NOTE 1: Gear sockets = Diamonds, Helm Socket = Diamond or Amethyst.


NOTE 2: If you are a high paragon, or using diamonds in gear and are running T13 content, you can swap out Near Death Experience passive for another passive of your choosing. I recommend Momentum since you will 1-shotting damn near everything and will always be on the move.


NOTE 3: If running GR65-70 and below (pending on your gear and paragon level), you can swap out Bane of the Stricken for a different legendary gem of your choice since things die so fast at that setting and below. I recommend using Gogok of Swiftness for the extra dodge chance and CDR for more dashing and Epiphany usage.


UPDATE 1: After some testing and tweaks, I have changed the ring settings and the gear gems up a little to better simplify the build as well as make it more optimal.

CORE: Always cap MS, dump the rest into PS. VIT if you are desperate, MR is useless.


OFFENSE: CHD always capped first, then go for CDR for more usage of CD skills. IAS last, leave CHC blank!


DEFENSE: Standard leveling order.


UTILITY: Cap AD first, then go for RCR, LoH Last.

Build Guide

An experiment I have been running with the Monk because I was tired of using Shenlong's and this is what I came up with. With this setup you can farm T13 content with ease while taking minimal damage while exploding everything in 1-5 (usually 1) hits. This is due to having 100% CHC nearly at all times using Broken Promises in conjunction with your Mystic Allies as well as Explosive Light not critting 5 times in a row every 0.5 seconds. Every explosion you throw down will always crit something for 100+ billion damage or more. This build caps out at GR80 in terms of power and defense, after that it gets really tough trying to survive and kill things in time. But hey, it's an alternative build to use for farming GR80 and below.


I've also tested this using Kyoshiro's Blade and Vengeful Wind with Incense Torch in the cube, they provide slightly more AD and/or CDR, but nowhere near as much damage as when wielding the torch. In T13 content, you want things to be dead as fast as possible for a number of reasons. For reasons I cannot explain, I sometimes lose Sweeping Wind stacks when getting hit, I've reported this as a bug to Blizzard but as usual it falls on deaf ears. Between losing a wind stack when getting hit, and the wacky rate in which wind stacks are produced, you can potentially burn through all of your stacks if you are laying on the trigger and not paying attention. So keep an eye on the wind stacks at all times!


ROTATION:

Dashing Strike to whatever direction you need to go to get an armor buff right away in case of enemies at doors in Rifts/GR.

When enemies are sighted, activate Sweeping Wind.

Do not attack anything until your Mystic Allies or Kyoshiro's Soul have provided you more than 1 stack of Sweeping Wind.

Once stacks are obtained, unleash hell.

Maintain Dashing Strike buff as much as possible.

Use Epiphany when you come across Elites, or if you drained your Spirit globe and need to get Sweeping Wind going.

Activate Mystic Ally if you drain your Spirit globe.

Activate Mantra of Salvation when you know you are about to unavoidably get hit hard or at all.


PROS:

Has good defense in T13 content.

Has very good damage.

WoL 95% spammable with the listed setup.

Can be very mobile if needed.

Gives the Juggernaut Affix the middle finger.

Is fun watching things explode.


CONS:

Can be difficult to gear for due to Incense Torch, Tzo Krin's Gaze, and Rings.

Not powerful enough to get passed GR85 unlike the Shenlong build.

Build must be exact to achieve results specified.

If not careful, you can burn through your Sweeping Wind Stacks and all of your Spirit leaving you unable to attack if CD abilities are on CD.
