Go full ancient because of the Legacy of Nightmares Set Bonus.
We go Dexterity on Hellfire Amulet because it has to be ancient, so 1000 dex > 20% cold.
Full Cool Down Reduction for Epiphany to get Damage Reduction and use Seven Sided Strike more often.
Seven Sided Strike and Madstone combination to apply Exploding Palm.
Aquila Cuirass for more survivability.
Dashing Strike for more movement + survivability.

Try to bring back an Exploding Palm Monk for group-play.
Nothing tested yet because I don't have the right gear.
Maybe there are better skill, gem or gear variations I haven't thought of yet.
Just wanted to start people to think about any possible builds and maybe to test it.
Please share your thoughts and results and start a discussion.
This is a good idea. I use the Inna's Exploding Palm build with my mate, but I think this has some real viability, I'll need the weapon but I would like to give this build a try.
yeah sss deals zero damage.
but i don't think you will loose dmg if use Fist of Azz with Azurewrath/Utar's roar/Sunkeeper. the white weapon dmg will be less, but LoN bonus multiplier will be 14 instead of 13, and you critical damage will be 130% higher dew to second emerald

the difference in critical multipliers is smth like 530% and 660%. but the difference between 1h and 2h weapons is also great, need some calculations
If you'll equip mantle of channeling+yan and take tempest rush there will be more damage from EP.
LoN allows to use different setups for sure, but the main problem with this build is applying EP on all enemies, you need a lot of CDR for SSS, and this will hurt your survivability a lot and dmg a bit. 2p uliana were so nice in swk))))
on the other hand, what party your need for this monk? who will explode the palm? LoN dart wd mb, don't know. No idea if this EP could do 100+ XP runs without boss better than ET wiz
You can use TR just before explosions or remove crown and take reapers.
Just a heads up EP damage is based off main hand weapon only and still loses out with the extra %dmg from LoN over a 2h weapon
The weapon would have to be Bone King or Furnace with fist of az in cube. the ancient 2-hand damage trumps 130% more crit and 8% more dmg from LoN with another 1 hander. the LoN buff is stacked 12 times, 13 with 2 one handers, making the actual damage increase to 1 more ancient piece about 8%. a well rolled Bone king will increase your base average damage by 40%+. No need to consider using 1 handers if you're trying to use this as high as possible
I would suggest mythic rhythm as 5th passive for 40% more dmg. Also, I tried a similar build on the 2.4ptr, the gear wasn't perfect, don't remember if it was full ancient even or anything, but I got crits up to 85B with convention proc.
70% is ok, you need toughness.
yeah, did d3 planner too with Azz and Sunkeeper on 5 assimilation stacks crit was like 50b, with WotBK about 85.
with CoE it will be 255b, not that bad.
the choice between furnace and WotBK is hard as always, depending on your party gamestyle, if you can skip elites, it becomes clear)
You might be better off with ancient sun keeper (20-30%) elite dmg and utar's roar (20%) cold and take fully benefit from legacy of nightmares set bonus, the base dmg different between these weapons and 2-handed is not alot,
But it should be around 15-20%, which is a seperate multiplier, but sun keeper should make up for it so I think the advantage over the 2-handed is both 0.20 more aps and 100% more LoN dmg, and ofcourse another emerald in weapon.
the difference is like 42-45%
it's huge, with furnace you can overpass sunkeeper easily. We did some calculations on d3planner to realize this

@OP - It might give you some ideas for your build
Another possible route that I have been experimenting with is dual weilding Legacy Fist of Az (up to 100% EP) with new Fist of Az in the other hand (Up to 300%). I also use Aquila but found with Cyclone Strike and SSS spending spirit, Aquila up time was not enough. Since this is a group build, having full cooldown like a U6 build is unnecessary since I only have to get palms on a new group so what I did was put FoE in Cube and used Pandemonium to remove spirit cost of SSS but then enemies that are frozen won't always be pulled by SSS. I really want a LoN support monk to work but started feeling squishy in 70's HC so another support character like someone else mentioned might be in order. Came looking for ideas and stumbled on your build so perhaps I will give Wrath of Bone King a try also while fine tuning the build.
