Build Guide
Hey boyz!
In my opinion/experience this build is currently one of the strongest possible monk setups for pushing solo GR leaderboards!
Please note: I always keep my diablo fans guides up to date and will be making adjustments to the guide whenever there is a shift in meta! so be sure to check back, and vote on the guide!
Basic game-play strategy (I HIGHLY SUGGEST WATCHING VIDEO FOR THIS BUILD, AS ITS VERY COMPLICATED):
- Debuff Enemies with cyclone strike, and maintain the damage reduction from cyclone strike.
- Apply EP 5~9 seconds prior to COLD COE buff.
- Get your assimilation stacks 1~3 seconds before COLD COE buff.
- Try have your Endless walk buff more than 80%+ DMG before COLD COE buff is up.
- Use mystic ally - Only during cold COE.
- Dash for 40% dodge when needed.
- Use Epiphany for defensive boost when needed.
Skill variations:
- Swap Unity to Near Death Experience for a more defensive setup (HC)
Legendary Gem variations:
- Swap Esoteric alteration for Bane of the Powerful for a more aggressive setup (Not suggested for high GRs)
Kanai's cube variations:
- Swap out Fist of Az for In-Geom for an OK T10 speed farming build.
FAQ:
Q: Why do we use seize the initiative?
A: Because it increases single target DPS, & it also scales the damage of some of the mystic ally on use effects.

Since CoE has a variable bonus isn't it generally better to cube it and wear Unity?
That would be entirely based on the rings I suppose.
For example I have a dex, CHC, CHD, 200% CoE and I fed a crap unity to the cube. Just evaluate which ring is stronger given the rolls.
The stat priorities are broken in dfans so this Quin guide won't have them until they fix it. You can use this guide for the stat priorities until then:
http://www.diablofans.com/builds/73214-2-4-gr84-inna-ep-from-chinese-leaderboard
I intend to delete this guide of mine once Quin's guide has all the stat priorities whenever dfans gets its shit together.
no stat priority? come on now
Think stat priority is easy for this build.
- Sockets (for rings and neck ofc), Cold Dmg % (neck/bracer), CDR up to 50-60% (shoulder, rings, weapon, gloves), Crit, Crit Dmg, ASPD (gloves, rings, neck, head), other (Dex, vit, defense, etc).
- Shoulders and chest may apply a Mystic Ally % Buff.
- Helm and boots may have EP Damage %
Why CDR over others? Mystic Ally active skill, to kill mobs and proc EP explosion and to keep Epiphany up, since we don´t have a zodiac equipped.
- Put more defense as GR goes higher (All resist, Vit, Armor).
Think thats it.
You don't need that much CDR. The only CDR Quin had in that clear was shoulder 8%, paragon 10%, Beacon of Ytar 20%, Diamond Helm 12.5%. You basically get a little bit more than enough CDR to have Mystic Ally up every time cold CoE comes up.
I'm guessing they'll update stat priority soon because the stat priority feature is working again on the edit build screen.
coe for cube for sure, 15% agains elites on unity is must have bonus.
what do you think about % EP dmg on helm instead of vit, and % MA dmg on chest and shoulders?
Question: I have an ancient inna's staff that rolled with good stats. it has dex, vit, att spd, ally damage. Problem: ally damage is close to 90%, which is the minimum. And, it did not roll with % damage. So my question is, should I reroll the mystic ally damage to 120% for better EP procs, or should I reroll one of the other stats for +% damage?
lol, sure enough, guess that answers that -- thanks!
Are there any variations to this build to make it viable in 2-player?

Thanks
Took me about 2 hours to learn, and feel the build..
It works!
Thanks for guide! I like the build but I play console and controls can be tough at times. It's a shame there is no slot for illusionary boots cause that long cooldown on dash often leaves me stuck in an inopportune position for setting everything off. when I can maneuver around and get a good group the damage is insane but still leaves the elites alive after everything else explodes at times and then I find myself depending on stricken to take down the one elite/champion that is left. I'll practice more.
So my question is...
How far could this monk push without Caldesann’s Despair lvl 90+ on every item plus 90+ legendary gems, not to mention paragon 1200+? Maybe GR62-3? That's what... an extra 12x450+300x5 = 5400+1500 = 6900 DEX plus the massive bonuses from the legendary gems? You could probably complete GR80 with any skill set. I wish build designers would standardize on a paragon level of say 500 with no Caldesann’s Despair augments so that you could truly determine the effectiveness of a build on a level playing fields that the average Joe could attain. If I could level 15 legendary gems to level 90, I wouldn't need this build cause I would already have an epic toon.
I can finiah high 70's with plenty of time to spare, then spend an eternity on the boss and lose. Is there a trick to fighting the boss? Should i be attacking, or just sit back , and pop mystic ally wheneverr it is available?
Thanks for any help on the matter.
That is a big help. Thanks so much for the info.
