This build is centered around cold damage and its synergies. With the bonuses from the Marauders set, Custom engineering, 5 sentries will give a total of 3000% damage buff, as well allowing the multiple use of your hatred generators.
Frostburn, Cull the weak, Bane of the Trapped, Marauders 6piece, The damage bonuses just stack so well together.
Iceblink, Polar station, Frostburn, all lead the way for amazing CC and Kite capabilities.
Zoey's Secret gives 8-9% damage reduction per companion, pair this with Marauders 2 piece and Cloak of Garwulf to gain 5 companions for more survivability.
Prep any fight by leading with a turret into the next room you are heading, use Elemental arrow(10-60 hits) for max output in hallways or narrow corridors, use Cluster arrow(3-18 hits) for open areas and general life gain. Rift guardians are simple enough to handle as you just place turrets in a circle formation and spam Cluster arrow.
Another option instead of Rimeheart would be Calamity.

Paragon points are spread here for a balance of survival and damage.
For a more aggressive play style prioritize attack speed, crit chance, and area damage.

Marauders chest is a good idea, I had Garwulf for the belt and the extra passive damage from 2 extra companion wolves. Nothing bad at all with going to Full 6 piece, not sure what amulet/ring I'd go with personally.
I tested Manticore(standard) 80% damage increse to Cluster arrow and 50% cost reduction, very nice.
Dropping elemetal arrow only after getting manticore, would allow for vengance yes.
If you drop Garwulf, then you can also drop companion and put a different skill set, though the buffs from its use are nice.
Considering the number of shots going out I still feel even solo that calamity is a top choice for the free MoD.

Just tossing out the comparison for ease:
Manticore, Add artillery passive and gain 50% crit damage(+ Cluster arrow damage, -Cluster arrow cost)
Etrayu, Add artillery passive and gain 8% damage increase (+ bonus cold damage).
Still haven't seen Dawn so not sure yet my opinion there.
Hellfire amulet wasn't added in as this was built with the idea of just standard drops, but yes it is optimal over The Traveler's Pledge.
I would probably go with Blood Vengance, Steady Aim, or Ballistics if It didn't proc one of the skills listed above.
So, that passive is a bit odd/off - all "crossbows" are 2handed. there are no 1 handed "crossbows". Hand crossbows are DH only and have their own part of that passive. That means there are no weapons to take advantage of the hatred regen. I looked through all the legendaries listed currently on Diablo's main page. Curious.
