Hi, I was looking at this build, and I have some comments and questions, and possibly suggestions. I've been playing a Thornsader on the PTR for the last couple of days, and there's some gear and skills I'd like to talk about.
Sanguinary Vambraces (bracers) - seems like a huge oversight of the designers to not give Invoker a belt, ring or amulet so these could be fit in. 1000% of your Thorns in an AoE is no joke. I've been running with this, and RoRG in the cube.
Belt of the Trove - honestly, there are two ways I could view this item. One, that it's really good, that Bombardment is really good...two, that Bombardment is only around just for the 50% damage reduction (since upped from 8 secs to 20 secs duration), and 1 - that I could use this belt and remove Bombardment from my bar... (since currently I'm forced to choose between Akkarat's Champion and Steed Charge) and just rely on this thing to proc my set (I checked, my set buff is refreshing every time the belt casts Bombardment) or two, that I could use the belt slot for a String of Ears if I can reliably have Bombardment up every 20 seconds.. (which might be more viable since I'm not using Unity). I'm still really on the fence about where this item, and Bombardment in general, belongs in the build. It's awkward, because Bombardment benefits from Crit / Crit damage, while Thorns in general doesn't. It also cares about your weapon damage, which Hack is just there as a stat stick and for the legendary affix...since the only attack we use is Punish or Slash. The more I think about it, the more I'm considering kicking Bombardment off of my bar.
Do you like Akkarat's Champion - Prophet over Rally? And do you like both it and Steed Charge over Consecration? The healing from Consecration is really piddly, it definitely needs a change to a % of your life... the damage I could probably live without, too. I keep expecting it to be like Inner Sanctuary, and it's just a really poor imitation.
I'm wondering why you're going with Diamonds in your gear besides the helm. I'm using Amethysts, since they'll give me toughness and damage both with Heart of Iron. Finery does buff your Thorns, I'm not sure on the % of your primary stat that gets applied to them, but might Indestructible or Fanatacism be a better choice?
Legendary Gems - I'm using Gogok of Swiftness over Bane of the Stricken, the attack speed and CDR are exactly what this build wants. I'm considering a spot for Simplicity's Strength, too, because with all that speed, healing 2% of such a huge life pool (my gear on the PTR is terrible and I'm at 1.5 million health) is very significant. Honestly I feel the Boarysky's Chip is the only "must-have" legendary for the Thornsader.
Also - you DEFINITELY want to keep grinding for a good Endless Walk set. An ancient amulet can roll with 12,000 Thorns on it. And you're going to have to find one already with Thorns on it, because the thing rolls with CHD which is useless to us. The ring only rolls with one secondary affix, and you want that to be Thorns as well, it's awkward and going to be very hard to find once 2.4 is live.
