Build Guide

Greetings traveler!

I am going to share with you my build that I used to beat GR60 on the second attempt without the need for stutter stepping. The whole point of this build is that I hate two things about the hammerdin build, those being stutter stepping and the skill Falling Sword. So I decided to use Steed Charge for the replaced mobility and swapping Iron Skin - Flash to - Steel Skin. This allow plenty of mobility and also give permanent AC - Prophet and Iron Skin.

You will obviously be using almost the exact same gear as a normal hammerdin stutter stepping build, but in the armor cube slot, you will use Leoric's Crown over Hexing Pants. This seems like a huge drop in dps... but this means you can switch out Gogok of Swiftness for Taeguk, which when leveled gives more damage plus armor when it is stacked up. Most people don't like Taeguk for hammerdin, but that is due to losing stacks when using Falling Sword. We will not be using FS, so it is very easy to maintain your stacks.

For healing you will want to gain Holy Cause through Hellfire Amulet. Also, you will want either LPWS or LoH on your Weapon or Shield. Ideally on the other you would want to gain an extra CDR roll or Vit roll. You could stack healing on both weapon and shield, but I find it to not be worth it. I only run with 1104 LPWS on my shield and I stay alive just fine.

The play style of this build differs a big from the Hexing Pants style. You will want to step away a couple steps, then spam hammers until mobs start hurting, then repeat. Any time there is little danger, you will want to be standing still spamming hammers to maximize the insane attack speed of hammers with Johann's Argument. You may need to mix in a bit of a stutter here and there, but mostly it is not recommended until the elites are just nasty. Stutter stepping is always a DPS loss in this build over just standing and spamming. Any time you get it trouble, hop on your horse and gallop to safety.

This build makes life so much easier on your hands than the Hexing Pant way. I believe it will be much better for people who do not have the supreme stutter stepping skills lol. I think it will also greatly help people who just do not like it.

I was able to beat GR60 on my second attempt in 13:55. This put me up to Rank 28 at the time (on 9-7-15). Currently I am down to Rank 141, as I have been enjoying my Witch Doctor angry chicken setup and not pushing the crusader. I haven't really messed with anything high level yet, but I am sure others will be able to push it further, especially if you can manage to get a good Johanna's Argument with healing instead of Vit.

For group play with this build you will want to drop the Unity for a Holy Stone of Jordan. This is not the best group build, as with all hammerdin build. You will be pretty squishy without the Unity. GR55 in group are where you shine, but GR60 is doable in group. Past that you really need the DR from Unity.
