Invis' Need for Speed RoS Monk Build, More Teasing: "Awesome" Weeks Ahead, D3 on PS3: Special Offer, Curse Weekly Roundup

IMPORTANT: The Diablofans Site relaunch will be going live tomorrow 12/5/2013, and not today

Invis' Need for Speed RoS Monk Build
Long time Monk strategist invis has a preview of a build he has been working on in the Reaper of Souls Beta. Currently the build looks pretty overpowered, but we'll let you decide. The highlight of the build are the gloves that let you keep shrine effects for a full hour.

Small update: The name of the build looks to might have been taken from the streamer zisss, though he uses it for his Wizard build. Invis is sorry for borrowing the name.

More Teasing: "Awesome" Weeks Ahead
After Grimiku's mention of the PTR coming"Soon" a lot of people requested a more detailed explanation. Today Vaeflare decided to put the fire out, but instead fed everyone's curiousity even more.

We're glad you're so excited to test out what's coming in Patch 2.0.1.

I don't have a date to offer you for either the Closed Beta for Reaper of Souls (if you haven't opted-in yet, you can do so here), or the upcoming PTR for Patch 2.0.1, so you';ll have to wait a little longer yet. But hang in there, because the weeks and months ahead are going to be awesome.

Builds like that always depend on the hour-long shrine buffs - it'll be interesting to see what happens when those gloves inevitably gets nerfed hard.
  • #2 Bleu42
Those gloves are a tad OP I agree, but that 0CD build he's running doesn't actually need them.

I've watched a different video of a monk with that helm (which IS needed I believe) and then just -CD% on legendaries. He was able to get to 0CD on BoH without the shrine effect. I believe the legendary should just increase the radius, and maybe a 10-15% CD reduction, MAYBE. I mean, a free to cast no CD huge nuke of a spell that also heals is OP.

sorry but where more teasing? What i see is typical blizz "will be done, when we will be ready" no eta, no promises of anything.

The gloves have been nerf'd. Down from 1 hour to 10 mins.

Crushing blow is also disabled for the time being.

Any need to even post this build ?

By the way they builds acts like now. Its just the new ww/archon spec of RoS. Which blizzard said they would go away from. Get build diversity.

If this would hit live, everybody and their mother would use this build so it will be dead in the water most likely next beta patch. It wont ever go live.

Gloves and weapon will also get a major nerf. Possibly something like max 2 shrines and 50% longer shrines. Or 1 hour with reduced shrines

This build name is from a streamer called Zisss. Shame on you. Same going for the trick with shrines.

Shrines don't make this powerful, the synergy of monk skills for damage with movement, with the legendary that gives more damage during movement, coupled with skill reduction, and the legendary helm make this work. Not shrines. That's just a cheesey bonus.

I here send my official appologise to Zisss, I didn't intent to steal the name, it was a cool name he named his Wizard build, and due to recent event, the name just kind of stuck into my head. I didn't want to name this build at all in the first place since the video is only intended to point out the current issue we have as a monk and is addressing to Blizzard too. I will send him a message in game when he is online to notify my inconsideration while putting the title and making the video. For readers here that are not happy about this, I am sorry and please forgive me.

Who cares if Invis took the name from someone else? I am pretty sure Ziss is the kind of guy who doesn't care about childish stuff like that. He's just as easy as Invis.

Im happy that the legendaries can make new builds viable....
Althogh nerfed, im gonna try a build with breath of heaven as core skill with that helmet and enough CD reduction.
  • #16 INVIS
Just to update some more info here, I already pre-seen that the gloves will be nerf and have a few backup builds that is equally fast without any of the shrines. And yes, with decent CD reduction, i can still spam breath of heaven. My point in the video should be pretty clear, the CD mechanic needs to be re-think, and breath of heaven doing both damage and healing at same time in a 50 yards that also travels through walls with no spirits cost just seems too over power to me.

If it is overpowered. It will get nerfed. This is a really early beta. 90% of the numbers you see in the game now will be reduced and fixed by the time it goes closed beta. And continued to be tuned til the release of the game. Not one build that is OP now will be on release.
