When contacted by GameSpot, Blizzard reps shot down the GI.biz story outright, saying the outlet had not even followed up with any inquiries attempting to clarify Pardo's remarks.
"In the Lunch with Luminaries discussion, Rob said that Microsoft occasionally bounces ideas off of us, with no specific reference to any possible future consoles," said the rep. "This should come as no surprise, as our games run on Microsoft's PC operating system. We aren't in discussions with Microsoft regarding any future consoles." (Emphasis added.)
As the GameSpot story says, just because Blizzard reps shot the story down, it doesn't mean their games wouldn't be viable on a future console. Just don't expect anything like that to be available to the public as quickly as the PC game releases.
(thanks PlasticComplex)
In general those console games are junk, they are played trough very quickly and not very often they offer much replayability.
But this is unlikely (lucky me) because blizzard only makes PC games.... right?
*looks around nervously*
And Barbarian... you may get D3 next christmas =o
The world does not revolve around you just because you have been playing a certain game for a bit longer than someone else.
Those are all opinion, I could just as easily claim the pc is "Chocked full of shit kid games"
All your god damn statements are opinions, im going to not waste my time any longer on this, when someone posts actual facts about how porting this game to a console feel free to pm me
Well, nowadays they have the ability to do expansion packs.. in the form of downloadable content.
I would like to see that done more often with console games.
but only for ps3 i think
not because of the graphics but because the xbox controller totally sucks for these kind of games
the wii possibly cuz it can be used as a regular controller too
but i didnt mind the D1 port
the only problems were the area spells controls and lack of spell shortcuts
but if they increase the shortcuts, be able to target a diff monster by clicking a button, and when using a spell use a default distance unless you hold down the button and move it to where you want
also warcraft 2 had a port as well
i found nothing wrong with the WC2 port though other than no online and no ability to create maps but there were a lot of default maps anyway
i never played Starcraft 64 though
they probaly did it somewhat similar to wc2 though from what ive seen on screenshots
but SC is a faster game than WC2
so the time it took for me to go into the command menu and select an ability i woulda lost already xD
but ya i think there are enough buttons on a controller to play diablo 2 on it
so diablo 3 should definitly be able to play since it uses slightly less buttons on a console port (if they used the same system as D1 though)
although the most annoying thing would be screwing with the inventory and for that reason alone
i wouldnt play the console one
moving the char wouldnt be hard at all on a ps3 controller with the D pad or the joystick
and the way diablo 3 looks its more like an action game as opposed to diablo 1 and 2
not to say there isnt as much strat, in fact theres prob more, it just has aspects of an action game as well
like D3 almost has a sega feel to it when i see the trailers lol
but its impossible to do it on the wii with the nunchuk setup
maybe with the regular controller but even then i dont know how many buttons it has on it XD (the wiimote sideways setup)
