Doh! I thought it wasn't until April 12th? Guess I read wrong or something. I'll have to get cracking on the last few pages, but yeah I'm making that deadline..even if I don't get to finish as much as I want to.

I wanted so much to write something and send it, but unfortunately, my country is not on a list, which means I can't participate... :(

"To enter, submit a 3,000 to 10,000 word story written in English and set in the Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo universe by April 12 and earn your chance to visit the Blizzard Entertainment headquarters and meet the writers and staff behind the lore seen in the games and books."

I think you were mixing up the dates with the theme park thing and the creative writing.

I will never make the deadline.

I should have tried to write something, last week was spring break and I didn't do anything. Too late now, but I probably wouldn't have won anyway.

I would like to submit some works or participate in any conetst that blizzard puts up but never ever is Estonia included in the counrty list that can participate. I hate that. I have been a loyal customer to Blizzard for about 4 or more years now and i cant enter any contest wich really pisses me off.

Is this a Art or Creative writing you just write Ideas?
  • #11 blood-doll
this one's art there's another contest that is creative writing; there's 2:

    http://www.blizzard.com/us/inblizz/contests/themepark/
this one's art, where you're pigeonholed into one (horrible) topic. (march 30th deadline)

    http://www.blizzard.com/us/inblizz/contests/writing/
this one is writing, where you can write whatever story you want within their worlds. (april 12th deadline)

Thanks. If anyone is doing the themepark I have a idea for a Diablo Restaurant.

mm i was thinking the topic was pretty dull and uninspirational, but i don't really like theme parks...
i would hate a blizzard theme park.. take characters/places/worlds that are dear to us, chew them up, plasticize them, spit them out, and charge for them.
big guy in a giant cartoonized diablo outfit mopping up puke..
i can just hear the tiltowhirl playing tristram music on a high pitched organ at fast speed.. ugh

but if it inspires you then you should attempt to draw/paint it.
if you can't manifest your idea into some kind of art, then explain your idea and maybe someone else can get inspiration from it.

People who apply should try to make it less like a nerdy starwars convention.
    I lol'd just saying that.
  • #15 Majpain
I'm not much of a artist but I can come up with ideas so if anyone is doing the themepark contest I'll lend some.
  • #16 Blackwing
I totally gave up on this contest. lol

If I had known about this contest sooner I could have developed a dream park for Blizzard with Roller Coaster Tycoon 3: Platinum. Not only does that game offer endless possibilities in sandbox mode as well as imported custom banners and signs, but you can mod pretty much anything you want into the game and use it as custom content.

I might just create a Blizzard theme park for fun and post it here.
