Mike Morhaime showed a cinematic of Diablo 3, now we are getting a gameplay video.
The Barbarian in this video fights over 20 mobs and he dispatches them easily. You can destroy and interact with the environment -- this is physics at work here. You can access the character window similar to World of Warcraft. Weapons can be enchanted. The barbarian is now doing whirlwind to deal with powerful enemies. Some lootable chests have traps ... the example given -- the chest activated a trap where many skeletal casters spawned to attack the barbarian. Deckard cain is talking in-game now in a interesting interface for RPG.
We see now a Witch Doctor class that can summon Mongrels as pets. He can create a wall of zombies to block incoming attacks of mobs from reaching you while you annihilate them. The Witch Doctor is a ranger basicaly casting from afar. The gameplay is about to end but before they want to show us what a real fight is in multiplayer with a witch doctor, a barbarian and a rogue. Holy cow this huge beast with four legs and a huge body that takes haf the screen is fighting the three classes. The beast is named Siegebreaker assault beast. It has a lot of HP but the 3 classes are doing heavy damage to it. It dropped an amulet and gold. The creature just exploded after looting and hundreds of skeletons now fighthing onscreen. Diablo 3 logo seals the gameplay video.

PARIS, France – June 28, 2008 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today revealed Diablo® III, the newest entry in its critically acclaimed action role-playing-game franchise. The announcement was made during the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment® Worldwide Invitational at the Porte de Versailles Convention Centre in Paris, France. A cinematic trailer and an extended gameplay demonstration with commentary from the development team introduced the game to the thousands of players in attendance.
“We’ve wanted to expand on the epic story and gameplay elements of the Diablo universe for some time now,” stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We know that players have also been long awaiting a return to the series, so we’re very excited to be sharing this announcement with Blizzard gamers here in Paris and around the world today.”
Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both Heaven and Hell, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. Playing as a hero from one of five distinct character classes, players will acquire powerful items, spells, and abilities as they explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary and battle hordes of demons to safeguard the world from the horrors that have arisen. The first two characters classes -- the barbarian and the witch doctor -- were shown as part of the announcement at the event today in Paris.
Diablo III will feature a custom 3D-graphics engine to render lush indoor and outdoor areas of Sanctuary with a high level of detail and vivid special effects. The game’s physics-enhanced environments will be interactive and destructible, offering traps and obstacles that create added danger for players and monsters alike. These elements, along with a new quest system and random scripted events, will be integrated into the game’s random-level generator, giving Diablo III the ultimate combination of dynamic gameplay and replayability. Cooperative and competitive play will be available online through an upgraded version of Blizzard Entertainment’s renowned online gaming service, Battle.net®.
Blizzard Entertainment is developing Diablo III for simultaneous release on the Windows® and Macintosh® PC platforms. Further information about the game, including details on the other character classes, major new features for the single-player and multiplayer components, system requirements, pricing, and availability, will be announced as development progresses. THE QUESTION IS......
WHEN IS D3 COMING OUT? IS THERE A SET RELEASE DATE?
all these videos of d3 and hype honestly means shit all without a set release date.
Dude, you're not the only one.. I never gave up on it though, even when people would say "they'll never make it, no way.. prime evil's are defeated, blah blah blah.. face it, story is over.. " I always stuck to my guns, and believed that they'll make it. It never made sense to me that they would turn their back on one of their more sucessful franchises.. No way! Morning comes, the very first morning that I missed the teaser, I fell asleep.. For a minute I was thinking, "is this a dream"? Someone pinch me.. haha
Blizzard always keeps mum about release date especially after the fiasco with Diablo I
I hope that they realease by christmas but thats wishful thinking:thumbsup:
I'm thinking my current pc won't be good enough to play D3 in fully rendered, lush graphics. Great excuse for an upgrade
I'm actually so excited it's scary. And to be honest, I think many of us had a preconceived notion that D3 news would in some way be clarified at WWI, especially so with an official announcement. Nonetheless, this is the best bit of news I've received in years (lol).
Blizzard FTW! Diablo 3 FTFW!
More blood and guts love it!!!
Yeah but knowing blizzard they will definetly make it darker and scary
and evil they are going to shoot for a M rating!!
Rainbows will be out!!:thumbsup::D
Stupid how blizzard just released all this new d3 shit now when its not coming out for years.
Typical Blizzard entertainment. Fucking jokes at that company
heres the website http://pc.ign.com/articles/884/884836p1.html
Hey Man, don't be such a pessimist, when most people were saying
"No Blizzard won't announce DIII, and look what happened they announced it
I think we will get surprised in the sense in how fast or closed to finished product minus a
tweak here and there it will get to shelves!!
LOL stfu. Diablo 3 has been announced, that's reason to celebrate no matter what.
