A rep from Blizzard just sent me notice that there would be no more announcements at BlizzCon tomorrow (Saturday), so for those of you (ie: all of you) who were hoping that this would be the day that Diablo 3 was finally confirmed, I'm sorry to inform you that you'll have to continue to wait. We all know that it's eventually coming, but the waiting for the official confirmation of the third game along with some idea of what it will be like is a really hard thing to wait for. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I figured it would be best to tell you about this now rather than have you guys waiting around all day Saturday hoping that we'd hear more about Diablo 3. Thanks for sticking with us though... Blizzard is listening to us and sooner or later (ok, later) Diablo 3 will become a reality.
In other Blizzard-related news, the rep just sent me word that our own Umaro participated in the first-ever Starcraft II tournament with Loc Teinh (from w3roc.com) on his team and won in the first round, but they were unfortunately defeated in round 2 by TeamLiquid. The overall winner of the tournament was TeamLiquid who were then given the opportunity to play Karune and Stephen Chang from the eSports team. TeamLiquid wasn't able to defeat them though. Unfortunately there's no replay video footage from this tournament, but maybe that will change later on.
More news as it becomes available.
Sad Diablo indeed. (thanks to Zabadak for sharing this image with us)
Since when is Blizzard about media coverage. All the games they made they kept in the dark untill the very last moment to totally psyche the fans of it. its better if they keep poeple guessing thatn promise somethin for 5 years or so straight with out showing them anything.. so donerule out d3 yet because Blizzard is not know for its eagerness to tell its secrets
Riiiight.
So WoW was announced what, 2 years or more before release? Burning Crusade was at least a year between announcement and release. If anything Blizzard have tended to announce there games with too much lead time.
They could be trying to change it but history shows a different trend.

you have also got to take into consideration that not only the heads of blizzard make an input on when and how to announce a game, or what the timeline looks like, but the developers as well. remember, its been a long time since a game has been so awaited as diablo 3, everyone and their dog is hoping for its release now that SC2 fans have what they want. if you see other blizzard communities, other people actually feel bad for us since we havent been paid attention to since the last patch, SC still gets its tournaments, and WoW, do i need to talk about WoW?
in all, diablo is awaited by alot more people, and because it is different from the other two in that we havent even had a blizzcon yet, it may yet be likely that they might have a different plan for us.
I'm still thinking, that this guy is from Blizz (posted on page 118). He made one post. It was directly Blizz related, then he left again. No opinion, no nothing..
Somehow strange, isn't it?
Eh, not really. Lots of people will come post a single time and are never heard from again. Besides, a person from Blizzard would surely know that many of us visit the Blizzard homepage. Why go through the trouble? I just wouldn't look too deeply into it, that's all.
i hope Blizzard to burn in hell because they haven`t announced Diablo 3!!!
I don`t understand why they don`t understand that we really need Diablo3 and this website have a lot of visitors !!!
your comments is why i want to tear heads off people in this forum....

As much as I hate this post, I feel I have to point out the irony in wanting a designer team to burn in hell for NOT making their hell-orientated game soon enough.

Yeah I have hoped that they would break with trends and suddenly announce D3 by taking beta applications; maybe they even want to get the drop on their old compadres at Flagship and blitz them with a really quick announcement and release.
But I doubt it very much. Leaving it to a beta stage means that they have done alpha testing with friends and family, and there are simply too many potential leaks for it to go unannounced. There is no way Blizzard would put a pre-alpha stage game for public viewing even in a selected closed beta.
Their quality control more than anything else dictates certain time frames and also means certain announcements need to be done by certain stages or leaks are almost guaranteed.

think about it, its been in the making for a while. if indeed they already had it made but wasnt fun enough to play, how much would they have to change? and even if they did remake everything or make everything from scratch, remember the large shipment of servers they bought a while back. according to a source who was a member here, those servers were really powerful, they could take the WoW servers and still have more. now if those servers were used for, oh idk, maybe battlenet v2.0, they could be trying to launch starcraft 2 and diablo 3 if infact they upgrade battlenet to a new version.
now wrap it all up, they announce diablo 3 and what it looks like as well as what its about. then they tell us diablo 3 is the beta. if its announced this year, then we got something to hope for. if its not, then its probably the starcraft 2 beta. im just saying that they might have been fervently working on this for a long while, and only now as its getting closer or just as close as SC2 they've starting giving clues to it. remember, starcraft had no rumors, no anything about the second, not even the little hints we get from blizz rep interviews and all. im just saying there is still hope for this year, and if its not this year, read my sig.

In my opinion, if it were sooner rather than later, Blizz would've just held back the announcement of blizzcon until november-december so they could announce WotLK AND D3 at the same time. Although that might screw up their schedule for WotLK.

I agree with you, next BlizzCon would be the best place to announce D3 even if it's a long walk We can wait.
I was really counting on Diablo 3 & Wow:Wolk annoucement plus Starcraft 2 features at BlizzCon07, but I guess Diablo 3 presentation's wasn't ready after all.
Yay, primetime starting in about a month
if only diablo would have been announced last year. it was perfect, 10 years after the first, and they could have had blizzcon on 6-6-6. then it could be "10 years of Diablo." like they did with WoW.
Riiiight.

Btw, hellgate comes out November 2 now?

it is really a long long walk ...
We all missed the sight of that finely crafted sig of yours.
