My progression hit a major wall until I changed from LoH to LSPosted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

Problem is the people who play MP10 that cannot survive. I prefer MP9 for that reason.
Yeah I suspected it would be slower but it is viable since I've had a go at it myself recently. I play in group on MP10 with my friends so I know they can hold their own. I've been using a CMWW build which was working really well for them, but it gets boring repeating the button mashing process over and over again. I find that this build also works well as you said and I'm having more fun with it. Even on MP10 as soon as you take that first monster down and it triggers black ice, the rest of the pack just melt in it lol.
I do find that I have to kite the tank EP's though when playing solo (that's with 253k buffed dps). I guess the only way around that is get lucky to find better items that increase dps without sacrificing ehp.
My DPS is less...I am kind of in a gear quagmire as upgrades now cost a fortune for me and I only get to play 5-10 hours a week. Here is the video, the elites I have are particularly tough so I have to kite even more than normal but it is what it is. 229k DPS
buffed. 1st take as always for my videos, don't think its fair to find the perfect elites I can kill easily. I think I can kite well

Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient RepositoriesQuote from LoroeseI'd have an easier time answering the question if I could see your gear and build.
Personally I am not a fan of bonus XP gear since it's only additive with MP bonus. Thus if you just raise your MP by 1 you gain just as much bonus xp as with whatever bonus item you had before. For helm I prefer the extra life% for survivability so I can push the MP a bit higher. Since trash dies pretty easily regardless of MP I find it worthwhile to run as high MP as you can handle at your comfort level. Then again, I play solo almost exclusively. With a group it SHOULD be easier to run whatever MP you are comfortable with, but I imagine it depends on group.
Thanks, I'll sell the socket helm I prefer my Storm crow. At lower MP (5-6) I replace UA with glass cannon.

I have been doing to public games since 1.08, selecting any quest for any act. I have been participating in MP 6-10. I am trying to find my “sweet spot” Since I am still paragon leveling and relatively low on resources I need drops and experience. I do not wish to go after one or the other exclusively. Before 1.08 I felt it was clearly the best option to play solo on the highest level I could maintain a decent speed and not die much on. Post 1.08 publics CAN be awesome for loot and XP.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
It seems like dropping down to MP6 replacing my helm with one socketed w/radiant ruby is the best compromise. Even grouped with scrubs, I can lay waste to MP6. People are... annoying at times. Sometimes MP9-10 is unreal but other times it can be a nightmare. MP9-10 seems too slow for soloing in my gear, I can do it and survive but it feels less than optimal. I know making a spreadsheet and tracking results is the only sure way to know with some kind of certainty, but man…That seems tiresome. Public groups offer no control, I would have to collect giant amounts of data to make it meaningful.
I am still searching for that perfect spot. The place that remains somewhat challenging and provides reasonable productivity for the time spent. Flipping on the AH for gold and Plowing MP1-2 in max xp gear is not an option. I would rather smash myself in the face with a hammer. What is your sweet spot?
Group or Solo?
XP bonus gear or max gear w/higher MP?

OP could you post a video of MP10 solo?

I would start with your belt. Way better options available. Read Bagstones gear guide.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
Act 3 is still good. I join act 1 any quest or act 3 any quest. People will show you. I would recommend playing the entire game through yourself so you know the changes.

I can back to the game about a month ago with 200k and worthless gear. I got lucky with one drop that sold I think for 35 million. I have purchased my gems on the RMAH for about 2-3 dollars total for all of them. The time it would take me to farm them seemed silly compared to not having a latte one day. I sold all my other gems on the gmah for some decent gold. I missed the boat on infamous day so I sold mine for real market value. I recommend buying your radiant gems it is silly cheap.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
1st get a weapon, camp the AH a little bit, throw some bids up so can track it. I got a reasonable skorn for 5k on a bid. NO BUYOUTS unless you are taking advantage of a mistake. READ the good gear guides out there. I play a Wizard so Bagstone’s was my bible. It allowed me to know what gear was desired and I looked for less than perfect items to snipe on bids. For example something with high EHP but no main stats and make up for in another item no EHP stats but a decent main stat. People are looking for perfect items you can find non perfect items at low buyout with a small amount of effort.
This will get you started, you will learn market. Then when you turn around and upgrade your items will sell for way more than what you purchased them for keep doing. I play for 1-2 hours a day, but some days zero. I spend 30 mins a day on the AH in addition before I go to bed. I don’t buy for flipping though, only upgrades. It is hard because I know I could make a fortune with my knowledge, but buying for no other reason than flipping seems cheesy for me. If you or anyone else does, no judging from me. I just have decided not too for now. It may change as I feel like I have hit a wall. It is really hard for me to find upgrades for cheap now. Magusrex#1997 if you want to see where my gear is now after only a month.

With 20 APoC i (10 from Stormcrow and 10 from Triumvirate) i run this build with 1h + source with success on mp4-5 (my gear doesn't allow higher). I have tailored the build more to my needs anyway:
- The crit proc on the main attack is a bit low, so I always run out of AP eventually when I attack single targets (last one of an extra health elite pack...). So for this I use Power of the Storm for Storm Armor to counter this.
- I use Teleport with Calamity. Great offensive usage and I can still get away.
- I never take Black Ice for party play, because in order to get an Black Ice patch, you have to get the killing blow. Rarely happens when 4 ppl are attacking something. I hope Blizzard will change the mechanic, so Black Ice applies a debuff and the patch is created when a monster dies while having the debuff, no matter who killed it.
I am also very happy with this build because it is the first one that forced me to use the terrain to my advantage. I've been running Weeping Hollow/Fields of Misery with this a lot and I always pull too many monsters and I have to retreat behind a bottle-neck so I can kill all those instantly.
Grouping and black ice is tricky. if I outgear my mates it is awesome, if they outgear me not so much. I often switch for groups. I will experiment with calamity. I like wormhole too.

Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient RepositoriesQuote from BribousI've seem a video with Archon + Arcane Destruction killing Ghom (I don't remember the MP) only with the boom-transformation.
It's a hell of an explosion.
I think Archon would help you a lot with this build, it busts your EHP high and your DPS also. And Archon is fun, with LASERS, LASERS EVERYWHERE ™.
OK, FOUND THE VIDEO:
(sorry for shouting, but it's fun)
But my 2 cents: I like slow time and meteor. I think a build focused on "Death Raining From The Sky" suits our Wizardry power. Although not very effective for the game, I think its fun to see a huge meteor blasting on the heads of the demons while they're being frozen...
I did not like archon with the build. Not needed. I liked time warp +20% damage but the escapability of Teleport is still king for me. I intend to experiment with diamond skin next.

I do not like having not experimented with anything but teleport. With the servers down I have been trying to think about what I could put in that spot. What do you think about Archon there? I think it could work if used it as it was originally intended. Get into a wo shit moment and pop it and not worry about it going down.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I think when the server pops back up I will try it with arcane destruction. 1600% weapon damage in a 15 radius should be kind of ridiculous with my gear. If I can use it to speed up elite kills, it might be worth it. I am willing to try so I have other choices to comment about there. I am curious to see how much 1600% weapon damage on a crit is. Improved archon may be the better choice, I will try both. I am skeptical because I use teleport a lot.
Anyone else have ideas to try instead of teleport?
