If you would kindly post this in the Diablo3 feedback forums. That way someone that actually matters will read your suggestions. Blizzard does not read these forums as It is a fan site.
I completed a lengthy review of the WD Helltooth set and completed a rift using it. In the video I provide several suggestions for how Blizzard could address the set and I hope they take notice (if they haven't already).
Thanks for watching. Please follow me at www.twitch.tv/insect1285 for more videos and game play.
TL;DR:
1) Not enough damage or utility
2) Unclear if "acid" zombies spit is poison damage or physical damage
3) Wall of Zombies needs to be re-worked for group play (i.e., cycloned/black holed/piranadoed enemies should passthrough the wall.)
Suggestions: 1) Combine 4 and 6p set bonus (to make a 4p set that could be used with Zuni's) 2) Increase damage by 5 to 10 times 3) Clarify tool-tip to specify damage type 4) Add utility (i.e., enemies hit by acid take X% more damage)
I'm Insect and I've been active in Diablo 3 since launch and finally said, "If I'm playing all the time and answering my own guild's questions, I bet I can help others!". So... I start streaming whenever I play (every night, almost). I am willing to answer any questions you have and sometimes have spots in groups that will go to viewers in my community, "Insect's Stream".
I would appreciate any support the community can provide so please come by and check me out at http://www.twitch.tv/insect1285
Some videos I've published that you might find helpful:
#3 would be nice to see to avoid the 30 minutes of experimenting to max out defenses. Not to mention that each new gear piece means re-tweaking the points spent to min/max everything.
Odd. I don't know what else to say other than to check that your drivers are up-to-date and the usual software level suspects (like turning off Anti-virus for a test, etc.). Hope the blues can help you. I know they generate log files that tell them a lot more.
Can you provide more information what you were doing when it crashed? If you just log-in and stay at the menus will it crash? How about standing in-town? How about when you play? When you play, is it only when you AoE large packs or just single target? Solo or multiplayer? Graphics on low/med/high?
There are a lot of variables to check. While your RAM usage is not going above ~2GBs, that could be because the system never registers the change. If a calculation needs 1GB of RAM to work, it will crash because of unavailable resources but never actually use the RAM. The game recommends 2 GB of RAM (https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-system-requirements) and with your system already using 1 GB just for the OS/background processes, you're really pushing the limits. That combined with a BETA game means crashes
If you can stay in menus/town for a long time and not crash, but when you begin playing and criting for large values and/or AoE the number of calculations per second skyrockets (i.e., what is your position, what spell did you do, what should the damage be, what should drop at which position, etc. etc.). A lot of these calculations happen server-side (to prevent hacking), but many are performed client side and then checked against the server for smoother game-play.
Sounds like a numbers problem. Numbers are getting bigger and one of the reasons people moved to 64-bit is that the numbers and calculations can be bigger and faster, plus more RAM for holding more temporary values used in calculations.
I would suggest you monitor your RAM usage (you can do this by opening the task manager and clicking on the "Performance" tab). My bet is that you're maxing out your RAM. Therefore, there isn't any room to hold values the game generates so it hangs (no values... program can't know what to do) and eventually crashes when the program times out.
Can't have more than 3.25 GBs of RAM on 32-bit hardware If you are maxing out your RAM, I suggest shutting down unused programs while playing to free up as much as possible. You may also need to revert back to Windows XP (which uses significantly less RAM than Vista/7/8).
If you have the 32-bit max of 3.25 gb of RAM, you're maxing your RAM usage during play after you stop all non-critical processes and you can't go back to XP... go forward. Time to upgrade to 64-bit and bring your PC into this century.
Doing it with a friend you must be naked going into the fight and you must give the killing blow. Alternatively, use a follower with really high DPS. Not hard, but takes some patience.
You will need really high attack speed though for the Fetishes, so with a Skorn, I'm not sure this would work, but it solves all mana problems easily and you keep a high DPS. If you want, switch the locusts for bears/wall of zombies and if you have enough HP/Ar/AR you can get rid of jungle fort for a different passive.

Shift + Click adds points 10 at a time.

No mana regen or abilities needed; Try this out: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#ShUdgY!aWV!cccccc
