I'm not sure what are you doing in Act 3 Inferno with those stats. What's with the blue gloves, leggings and rings? I guess having a blue weapon is acceptable.
I got 47k hp, 600 all resists. Sure, you take 15% less damage than me with those resists, but I also got 4 times your damage.

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it! :)

I bought a cheaper yet better weapon.
Paid about 2.6mil for it + made a +70% crit damage gem for 600k, it lowered my dps by 2k, but since it's a normal axe, I took Weapon Master passive and my dps went 3k higher than the old one, not to mention that I gained 5k hp out of it and it also doubled my dodge chance. Plus some other goodies like immobilize on hit as well as 2.7k hp after each kill.

It's good to know that a nicely itemized 1k dps weapon can have way better dps than a poorly itemized 1.3k one.
I should've sold my 2h axe through forums instead of putting it on AH for 1.2mil, would probably end up getting more cash for it.

    strength modifier = (1052+199 = 1251) => 13.51

    How did you get 13.51?

And uh oh, my calculation seems to be weird.

    Damage: 982+1317/2 = 1149.5
    Strength: 1052+93 = 1145
    Critical: 1+0.31*1.75 = 1,85
    Bonus: 1.3
    Attack speed: 1.17

How come I got exactly same crit damage modified with the B weapon as well?

Well, here are my stats without weapons:

    1052 strength (1052% damage increase)
    31% crit
    176% crit damage
1.13 attack per second (+13% attack speed)

    The weapon I've been using:
    1023 dps
    925-1122 Damage
    1.00 Attacks per Second
    +9 Minimum Damage
    113-246 Fire Damage
    +49% Damage
    +199 Strength
Critical Hit Damage Increased by 98%

I'm thinking about buying this weapon:
    1344 dps
    982-1317 Damage
    1.17 Attacks per Second.
    194-451 Poison Damage
    +93 Strength
    +224 Dexterity
    Increased Attack Speed by 17%

Would it be better to go for 1.00 attack speed weapon which hits harder but lower dps?

And I'm still thinking about that dual wield..

    Edit: using this 2h build:

I've cleared whole Act 2 on Inferno except Belial, he's kinda hard as I sometimes find his p3 slams unavoidable. I run as soon as I see the marking on the ground but it still hits me.
Anyway, my point is my defensive gear is good enough to farm all of Act 2 (shielding champs are hard but doable).

That aside, I've collected 5 mil gold and am thinking about buying a new weapon, however I am not sure if those 1300 dps weapons will be better than my 1020 dps.
It's a mighty axe with 199str and 98% crit damage. My stats are 31% crit (with shout) and +275% crit damage. Ditching that weapon would leave me at high crit chance but only 175% crit damage.
To find a 1300 dps 2 hander with those or somewhat similar stats I'd have to pay a lot more than 5 mil.

There's a 920 dps 1h with +100str and +1800hp after kill on AH... would it be a better choice to go DW with 900+ dps weapons?

Let me just add that I don't want to go shield style.

Scoundrel, I'm loving his stuns and slows as well as +3% crit chance. And I got him to 3k dps, so he's not all that useless :)

So this is what WoW-like Diablo looks like. Insane Inferno difficulty, auction house and sites like www.diabloprogress.com...

WTF, since when did Diablo need a progress website? I feel like all those WoW kids are jumping on Diablo bandwagon and ruining the game. I'm pretty sure that Blizzard was forced to make the game have WoW feel. Or they just wanted to, and then sold a crapload of annual passes.

Endless grind in Diablo 2 was fun, in Diablo 3, it's just frustrating.

Ok, seriously this is just bullshit.

I have upped my defense quite a bit now, I'm at 33k hp and 170-274 resists (no shout). My dps is fine (12.8k) since when I meet a champion pack I just pop berserker rage and destroy them in 5-10 seconds.
I'm wiping the floor with everything in Act 1. There's no question about it, I just ran a whole act and farmed some 420k gold.

But Act 2 is just bullshit! I could eventually become stronger by farming cash from Act 1 and then buy gear from AH.

But since when did Diablo 3 turn into WoW grind? Why should I have to run Act 1 countless times to get cash to buy gear?

The items from Act 1 are useless. Drops are between lvl 51 and 60 (very low quality 60s). It it wasn't for all those ranged classes farming late acts, we, barbarians would be stuck in deep shit. We still are tho, the difference now is that we can farm cash to buy stuff other classes who can farm put on AH.

There is a bug where you can create a Hell game, then leave it, join a public game and it will set it to Inferno and you'll be able to join that solo. Thing is, the first boss (boss, not a champion pack, the easy guys, remember?) I've encountered there 1 shot me. I popped ignore pain, it 2 shot me instead.

I don't see how we're going to be able to get to that point and farm effectively without 1000+ resists and 100k hp. And there's currently no gear that will get us that high unless we go sword + board. Well screw that.

I know wizards have been nerfed, but at least they can kite shit.

    Quote from Nuvian

Thats a great build btw, i replaced ruthless with battle rage though.

I'm only at 7.5k DPS with a 811 DPS 2 hander, do most of you guys drop MF stat on items and just go with vit/str/resist?

Yo mean Berserker Rage? Sacrificing crit would really put me in a crappy position, it's already too low for my taste :/
Considering how hard Inferno is, there's no place for MF on my barbarian, it's all str, dex and resists :P

Act 1 Inferno is trash anyway. I was destroying pretty much everything in my way.
I found it to be easier than Hell Act 4, where I had to skip some packs (those damned fallen angel champions were raping me).
Act 2 however is a whole different story. Normal monsters there hit harder than rares in Act 1. It's ridiculous, I don't understand how are we supposed to survive without stacking tank stats, in what case we sacrifice our dps gear. And I want my barbarian to be a huge 2h swinging powerhouse, not a wimpy 1h + shield type.

Well, I am using a 757 dps 2 handed weapon. Unfortunately anything better than that costs 500k on AH, and better items are probably dropping in Act 3 or Act 4, and right now that's very much impossible for me.
I have no skills to increase my dps. If I use a shout I get to 19k, but no spot for that skill.

I have a lvl 53 wizard though. I heard they have much easier time farming Inferno, so I might level up that char and then work from there :)

posted a message on A question about +%damage weapon stat
I've seen weapons with +30% (number varying) damage stat.
My question is, is that damage already counted in weapon dps, or will it count once you equip the weapon?
For example, lets compare two 1000 dps weapons with exactly the same stats, but one of them with +50% damage. Will the end effect be the same on both weapons?

Act 1 was a cake, however Act 2 is a whole different story. I feel like I'm doing enough damage, but my defense is low, although I hear that even tanked 1h + shield barbarians are having problems in Act 2.

Should I boost my damage further or focus even more on hp/armor/resists?

At the moment my stats are like this:
    29.5k hp
    13.8k dps
    16% crit
    225% crit damage
    4886 armor
Resists ranging from 69 to 156

    Edit:
    Swapped out some gear:
    33.5k hp
    13.3k dps
    15.5% crit
    4741 armor
Resists ranging from 90 to 175

    And my talents are:
    http://eu.battle.net...XYRP!aZV!YccZZZ

I used this and had a blast in act 1, I was able to take on anything.

I refuse to go 1h + shield, it's not my playstyle and if 2h or dual wield is impossible to progress with I will reroll another class that can.

posted a message on Where do champion/unique mobs get hp from?
I know they regen a bit of their hp per second or so when they are not in combat, but sometimes when I get a boss to 20% hp, then run to him, he is at 100%, even tho I didn't run for long!
Then, on another occasion, I have to run a whole lot longer, but the boss did not heal much. Is this like some random shit or what? Like inferno already wasn't that hard for us barbarians :/
