Grats! I doubt that was the reason because lance builds move from elite to elite. You only stop when you use LOTD.

posted a message on cold wave of light hit like wet noodle?!?!

It's sort of a simple answer. The difference is AoE damage versus single target damage. While Shattering Light does single target damage in a line, Explosive Light does AoE damage to all enemies around your target.

You're probably missing the main part. The attack stops at your target. It's not an AoE rune. So when you kill the FIRST target, it goes to the next target after your FIRST target. Just because the rune says "line" doesn't mean it does the same damage in that line. It just means that the attack goes in a line but stops at the first target you hit and continues after you kill that target.

I think it would have been specified if so... "Wave of Light does an additional 820% weapon damage as Cold in a line".... to all nearby enemies or pierces through enemies. But it doesn't say that. Surrounding enemies aren't affected by this. That's why you'll notice that you'll have to aim exactly at your target in order to kill it.

Pretty simple rotation. Telling you wrong rotations wouldn't make any sense. There could be a ton of wrong rotations.

posted a message on WOL Solo Build Variant GR100+

***UPDATE - GR95 Clear with 1.2 mil Sheet**

A little bit about me. I'm currently around rank 600 on the Leaderboards. I cleared GR95 with this build and still climbing the ladder.

At 93 I hit a wall using the cookie cutter build and different minor variations of the build. I tried different Mantras, runes, legendary gems, passives, etc.

All of which didn't seem to have enough damage or damage reduction to complete GR93. I was always behind 30 seconds or 30 seconds late however you want to look at it. My damage wasn't quite there and I was dying quite a lot.

Then I finally thought of something, what if I change to Mantra of Conviction (8% passive damage/16% active damage) with Intimidation Rune (Enemies do 15% less damage) and changed the damage passive to Resolve (20% damage reduction). Another change I made was Dashing Strike rune to Radiance for 15% more attack speed. Because of MoC and Resolve, I did not need the extra damage reduction from Dashing Strike.

With this build I have better survivability and do more damage.

After making these changes I cleared 93 on the first try. I died once but that was because I had one of those floors where you step out and there's like 50 trash mobs and 2 elite packs right in front of the entrance. I got stuck in a corner with AoE all around me lol.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my variant. There is a lot of synergy with this build even though it's just a few small tweaks it makes all the difference. I'm sure you'll find it a lot easier to push with this build being less squishy and at the same time maintaining dps.

Give it a shot and let me know what you think via comments on the build page. Thanks!

Your toughness is very low. You're currently around T10-T13 range. You need more than 9 mil toughness to survive. Around 25 mil toughness is average for most players pushing 80+. Monsters do more damage as you go up higher in tier. Therefore you need more life to sustain the damage and avoid getting one shot killed.

When you get more Ancients, you'll have more vitality. You have 9 pieces of gear that are non-Ancients which is roughly around 1000-1800 vitality that you have yet to obtain depending on how you optimize the gear when you do get it.

posted a message on Trag's vs. Pest Lancer Builds
    Quote from Deadlift»

OP yes Trag single target damage is way above Pest. But that's about it. The thing with Pest is that it destroys trash while you're sniping elites which is important for clearing high keys while also ensuring max crit on targets which diminishes the gap between pest and trag's ST damage. 90 is not a great measure of set power btw. It's kind of like the new 70 for most classes after the balancing act blizz did. Trag was really good a year ago when all we did was snipe elites and yea it's defense is easier than say Pest but both play similarly except you actually care about grouping up trash to slaughter alongside your elite target. Hope this sheds some light on why the change.

That seems like more opinion or "play style" than anything. You're wrong about testing things at GR90. You always choose a base to test anything in any game or aspect. That's the only way you can get accurate results. When you do a few dozen GR's or even hundreds of GR's at the same Tier with the same exact sheet damage and get the same exact results then you know which build outperforms the other. Lots of players don't even give Trag'Oul's a chance because of all the Pest fanboys. Most people I've come across never even played Trag'Oul's. They hit 70 and immediately farm Pest gear just because of what streamers are currently trending. If the top streamers were promoting Trag'Oul's for S13 then everyone would be playing that build. That's how D3 works for the most part.

I'm not saying Pest is bad at all. I'm just saying people get swayed by streamers to think certain specs are better than others. Lots of streamers are complete BS I tell you. Lord Fluffy, (sorry, to call that guy out) but almost all of his builds are nonsense. But, you'll notice that all of his vid titles say "Best Farming", "Best Speed", "Best Build Ever", etc. All of his groupies play these subpar builds and next thing you know, the game is flooded with people thinking they are good builds. Even though these builds are really bad, people "upvote" the builds by the hundreds on Diablo Fans. D3 is almost as bad as real life politics when it comes to builds.

At the end of the day, you will play whatever you're comfortable with or find fun. If you want to be an ignorant groupie and follow whatever some streamer tells ya or follow outdated Icy Veins every season then that's your perogative.

Viewing Hero Details shows what build he completed the rift in which was with Trag'Ouls.

I kid you not... D3 is all about fanboys. People just play whatever is trending regardless of what's better.

    Perfect example:

Last season (S13), everyone became MS fanboys with UE set but the better build was actually M6. Why was everyone playing UE MS? Because of streamers.

You can throw whatever numbers out if you want. I did my own testing and a lot of it. I probably ran a few hundred GR90's with Trag & Pest. I came to my own conclusions.

You will eventually realize that most players just go with trends. For example, when Necro was first released everyone played Inarius when I already knew Trag'Oul's was superior to any Inarius build. But I could not convince anyone since the leaderboards said otherwise. Lo and behold 2-3 weeks later everyone converted to Trag builds. This is the same thing that happens every season. Everyone plays Pest but to me it's just a trend. Trag'Oul's is just as good if not better in my opinion.

posted a message on T13 Condemn Speed Crusader Build (2.6.1)

I use Invoker set for T13 speed farm but Condemn builds are great as well. I tested both and the only difference is that Invoker is more of an elite hunter build while Condemn can obliterate trash mobs.

posted a message on Condemn Build is Legit

After my near year long hiatus, I decided to mess around with the newly buffed Condemn build for Sader. I gotta say, it's legit.

I solo'ed GR90 with only 1.3M sheet dmg (red gems). I solo'ed GR87 with 600k sheet dmg before that (blue gems). Obviously, the build isn't really about sheet damage from the comparison.

Currently, using Gogok though because I'm farming for a better ring/neck for another 8% CDR. Once I have that, I'll switch that gem to Stricken since it takes longer to kill the RG than clear the rift.

posted a message on Inarius "Cursed Bones" Melee Build GR90+

Tested. Does not work anymore. Not sure how they managed to break Inarius even more but they did. I used to do 70-80 with ease in the same exact gear and sheet damage (actually, I have about 30%+ more sheet damage now). Surprisingly, I just die without even getting a few swings in with Bone Armor at max. This is totally broken. It was never this bad. It's been almost a year and they still haven't fixed Inarius. That's disappointing.

Is this build still viable for 70s? Anyone tested it? I have a build close to it and I'm attempting to get above 60 currently but struggling, although I don't have the entire build yet.

For 70's, it should be fairly easy. This is a very tanky solo build. It's not an "elite hunter" type build. You gather as much trash as possible when burning down an elite pack. Since all of your damage comes from Grim Scythe, attack speed is your priority. Cdr is great to proc Bone Armor damage but I wouldn't sacrifice attack speed for Cdr. I think area damage should be second to attack speed then Cdr. If you're looking for speed then this isn't the build for you.

posted a message on Season 13: Inarius + Grim Scythe poison build

I'm not going to say your build is good or bad. I'll just tell you this much.

With Inarius your skills have to be close range or they don't proc the damage buff from the set. The only mage rune I found that works great with Inarius is the poison rune. Otherwise, you have to go head first into a bunch of monsters to get the damage buff applied to your mages. In other words, you can't just stand behind your mages and expect them to do any damage. It's similar to proccing Bone Armor. You have to take a risk and get close to monsters to proc Bone Armor. I can't count how many times I died because of that. Now, imagine trying to manage Bone Armor + Mages... you'll probably die twice as much.

From what I recall, the gem doesn't proc the poison buff.

I wrote this build almost a year ago and been gone for almost 8 months. I guess I'll try it out again and give you some feedback based on the new changes. Since I've been back, I've tested a few of my old Inarius builds and they didn't hold up. I'm not sure what happened with Inarius. I feel like Bone Armor doesn't even work lol. I don't feel ANY damage reduction even with 15 stacks of Bone Armor when I use the necklace.
