Haha, for how like t play games - don't worry about rushes. Rarely ever will a person be able to "rush" themselves through a game. To be rushed, you need a high level friend (~80 or higher, and preferably a sorceress or a Paladin with an Enigma) to beat all the bosses for you. The reason people get rushed is so they can get to Hell Difficulty much more quickly, and start running through the Chaos Sanctuary with really high level people. Just hanging near the back of action will earn you lots of experience and you'll level up in no time.
If you're on your own, then generally you just have to tank your way through most of the game and level up that way until you beat Hell Difficulty. Playing with others online helps speed this up, since having multiple people run through the game makes it so much easier (even when Diablo's minions get a boost). You start to aim for bosses over and over to get things like runes and high-level uniques when you reach hell difficulty and can start killing bosses really easily (which can be a difficult thing to do with a barbarian).

And how do you boss rush? Can you kill a boss and have it spawn again while staying in the same bnet game?
Can you provide a good webpage where I can see all of the runewords and their requirements?
Is it good to keep a mercenary with you at all times? What is the best mercenary for normal level? for nightmare? for hell?
What is a good barbarian build to go with until nightmare? until hell?

So for my first char on bnet ever I decided to play a barbarian and its pretty fun right now. But I realize after playing with a lot of people that they like to rush through the game and you need the best items to do that. And because of that I realize you need to make runewords.
So my question is what is the best way to get runes? What are the best bosses for me to solo to get good items and runes?
I am level 21 Barbarian with 19 sword mastery and the rest into bash.
What is a good build I should go for? (I still have the respec available from Akara)
I am really newb guys, and everytime other people come into my games, they seem so much stronger than me. Any help would really be appreciated.

What is a good build for a TOTAL newb to play?
