The times we did have with SICK were glorious, and the slow death of it was even more so. Something which once had us clocking up 20+ hours of Diablo 2 a week, now resides in the sites archives.
The core members of SICK are long gone, and only a select few of you, including jetrall, know who i am speaking of. I wish Jetrall the best of luck and hope to join his venture sometime soon. -

I only come back for the news & announcements, and blizz tracker.
And i saw this topic and decided to have a read. It was a good read. And its all true. Reading about "the glory days" made me smile.

- There needs to be a stable currency. High runes were the main currency in D2 (and earlier on, SoJ's), and it was quite difficult for your everyday player to obtain these items. Gold definately needs a more important role in d3. The game should FORCE the player to embrace gold as the main currency and wealth, rather than items. It should be used for EVERYTHING.
- Keep item tetris! This is one of those little things that you took for granted in diablo 2, but it was one of those things that made the game awesome in its own way.
- Enable players to trade more freely without the need to constantly create games specifically for the purpose of trading. At any one time on diablo 2, 90% of the games infront of you were for trading. Provide an auction place, a market of some kind, that can be accessed no matter what game you are in, be it your first time playing or in the middle of a run of some kind with friends.
- Make some items bind on pickup/equip. It can completely change the way trading works, and will eliminate the age old d2 problem of items being the absolute currency.
Suggestions for PVP
- Team duels need to be encouraged. Diablo 2 PVP was 99% of the time all about 1v1. Team aspects can be very fun.
- Allow duels to take place casually as in diablo 2, or at various battlegrounds/arenas/areas that are specifically designed for PVP.
- Offer rewards and incentives for those who excell at PVP, as well as some kind of ranking system. Some prefer to be top of the ladder, but some may want to be the best player killer out there.
- Allow game creators to choose the way PVP works in their particular game, ie: both parties must consent to a duel before it can commence, or players can become hostile with anyone they want, whenever they want. This eliminates the problems caused with ganking, but also gives players the option to live life on the edge.
- Allow PVP to be possible in hardcore, if there is hardcore, without players dying permenantly, eg: have a player automatically surrender when they reach 1hp. Because hardcore players might like to duel too.
- Official PVP tournaments, with titles/rewards given to the top players in their field. -

Just wanted to say ive been a loyal d2 fan for years and im glad some people actually get off their asses and inform the people of d3.
Ive been reading random websites and forums about d3 for about 6 hours now and im almost 100% sure d3 is coming...it might still be a while off but its definately coming.

Sadly no...i used to imitate him for fun (in the good way)but now i dont...for obvious reasons.
On a lighter note, yes i do have an awesome aussie accent =)
And you might notice the things i say in diablo are very aussie indeed...some people seem to not like being called mate and as far as i know dont know what mucking around means. LOL.

I live in Australia, so thats why you'll be looking at my posts wondering, why is this dickhead posting on the forums at 4 in the morning?
Yeh the timezone difference sucks, but you'll be suprised how many aussies love diablo. A fair few, beleive me. Includng me.
I started off playing Diablo, it didnt really grab me. Got about 8 levels down and thort, nah, not hooked.
Then came D2. And i was hooked. Played single player for about 4 years before realising bnet. Been online ever since. Had the same account the whole time, never been banned, never used a bot or mh. Now i wait for D3. Like everyone else on these forums i guess.

First, i just wanna say cheers from all the way down here in Australia. Now for my rant.
I just thought it was a real dogact for people to come and bag ryan. All he ever did was try to give us all hope that Diablo 3 is coming out...and he was a lot more convincing than the other god knows how many people who go 'omg fully my dad is working on diablo 3 its gonna be sick man'. No. Ryan constantly updated us AS BEST HE COULD. He did the responsible thing by going to silver and elfen, they can control this best. If you are going to take a shot at someone, know your facts. No one here knows ryan. You dont know what he looks like, you no nothing of his life, you dont even know if hes telling the truth. You can assume all you want and be 100% right or wrong. But you might not ever know. Let him do what he wants to do, whether that be lie to many people and get their hopes up or try to share the awesome truth. NOBODY KNOWS THE TRUTH BUT HIM. All we can offer is our opinion, and no opinion is right or wrong. Either come here and offer support and thanks, or piss off. Fuck, its rediculous taking a stab at someone you dont even know, for something as neutral as a game. Instead of all of us having a go at each other, why cant we just look foward to Diablo 3 and talk about what we think will be on it, what should be included, and especially what it will be like playing with the SICK guild. Yes, a forum is a place to offer an opinion, but there is a very big difference between offering an opinion and taking a shot at someone. What a fucking dogact. If you dont like it, piss off. If you are interested (which is what should draw you to the topic in the first place) then share your thoughts with the good people of Diablo3.com. Relax, have fun and once again: if you dont like it, FUCKING PISS OFF!
