More or less they are charging 20 bucks for the USB drive, so I would say it would come down to how much you want that, and how good you think D3 is/is gonna be(I want it bad personally, but if D3 doesn't show a big step in the right dirrection, I can't warrant spending so much money).

My point is that Collectors Editions are USUALLY around $100, and in fact $100 is a low ball for MOST CE's.
No they aren't, you posted 3 games, well guess what, there are hundreds of CEs that are 80 or less(if you looked at a list of games that have had CEs, 99% of them are 80 or less), atleast while they are still being sold at retailers, once they go out of print, then people sell CEs at such prices, but they don't go for such prices at release.
I don't understand people's obsession with an "end game" The end game for me is when I get a character through Inferno difficulty and figure that I've seen everything there is to see in the game, see that I've spent 200 hours or something on the game and then go play something else. The idea that the game has to have an end game that keeps you entertained forever is a pipe dream. Play the game until you're not interested anymore then stop.
Man, I remember when no game had an "end game" you could either play it again from the beginning or buy a new game. That was pretty much it, now all games have to keep you interested forever. I feel sorry for Blizzard designers, they have created a monster!
Lol that was pretty long ago, because even a bunch of NES games had an endgame(and if you want to get technical, so did the more popular Atari 2600 games, granted it only consisted of beat X high score/2 player VS mode, but still).
Well, I'm going to get out and say: When you reached the end of the game, maybe its time to put it down and let it rest. If doing it all over sounds fun then go ahead, with friends, D2 is still fun to redo.
But once you're done, you're done. I mean, D2 always had so much randomness but its still that one game that I went through completely (never farmed or anything, just played), and eventually you finish it and you move on.
In my eyes, thats just what games should be. Blizzard loves to try and suck people in the same game until forever, but that never worked for me. A game has a beginning, and it has an end. I put it down, and I come back months, if not years later.
The only reason a game lasts longer really is just because you're wasting tremendous amount of time on it. Its easy as a kid to get absorbed in a game like D2 and just keep doing it. But reality is that eventually, if a game is lasting forever, its because its wasting your time, and you're running on addiction. I'm not saying you're dangerously addicted if you keep playing 1 hour a day because it still satisfies you, but you know.
I don't see just one game. I see plenty. Some people have been waiting for D3 a long time, and some people have lived of almost nothing but Diablo. I can understand they kind of want it to last forever, but again, its not supposed to last forever.
So what could they add to the game? They could add content. Anything they had is finite, and will present the same eventual problem. We'll get expansions to freshen it up a few times. Take it for what it is. You can only eat so much chocolate.

If it is at all possible, you'll have to order it dirrectly from the Blizzard site anyway, so I strongly suggest just keeping an eye on the Blizzard site(if you have a WoW account, you can ask on the Blizzard forums, perhaps you'll get a blue to post), if then even intend to allow this, they will post a message somewhere on their site, claiming you can do such.
I don't have an active WoW account, I've been clean for about 2 years now.
It would really suck not being able to play on day one, in the past I've been let down by several different retailers and not got games on release day, if that was to happen with Diablo III I would be gutted.

I've never personally had a problem with preorders or in store pickups. But that's just me.

I can't vote(my choice Isn't up there), I don't think It's especially good or bad news(although bad for Bizzard), but it would've been smart to get them both out at the same time.
This whole "WoW is using D3 as a marketing scheme" is seriously going to people's head. Its not like I like it either, its just there is extreme overreaction about it. You don't spend so much time and money on a game for marketing for a slowly dying game.

No, not just because of the WoW sub promotion(the past few months or so have had marketing scam written all over the D3 project), WoW has nothing to do with it(except for the fact WoW is the only game Blizzard actually cares about, but as far as marketing goes, only the sub promotion has anything to do with WoW).
I am not talking about the CE edition as a reason but just as a whole Blizzard is just pissing me off over the last couple of months. The Beta game play has mellowed some of the feeling but with cheapening of D3 as "wait there's more" informatial selling scheme to keep WoW subscriptions it feels to me that Blizzard does not care about D3 at all and that has me worried that that the game might just not be that good. The game play of Beta looks good but still it does not mean the rest of the game is good.
If I do calm down but right now I just feel that Blizzard should have just not have done D3 and just let it end at D2 LoD.

the skull is the holder for the usb drive which is the soulstone. also on the usb drive Diablo 2 is preloaded on it.
