It didn't take that much time. If you read the news about the patch delays, they specifically said that their Legacy team that works on patches on the old games were moved from doing D2 patch to doing Warcraft 3 patch.Quote fromWOW. Very disappointed. I know its an old game but does it really take this much time to make small changes to such an old game. Is the programing of this old game that complicated that it takes so long?
So only blizzard knows how long they actually used time for the D2 patch, because since june or something when they announced the major bug in Warcraft 3 they worked on that and it took a long time.
Iron Maiden was a great thing, but blizzard fucked up it in 1.10, they made it reflect 10x more damage than before, which made it really stupid to do anything in there with a melee character.I always thought that Iron Maiden made the Chaos Sanctuary a unique place to be! Kind of gave you a sense of things to come (fighting Diablo, duh)! Little saddened by that!
pre 1.10 you could do whirlwinds in Chaos Sanctuary if you were a bit careful. You did die if you stupidly did long whirlwinds through huge crows of monsters and got iron maiden during it. After 1.10 you can almost die in 1 normal attack if you happen to party with pala for example

Tried to add some survival skills with WW also some fury regeneration. Have to see it in action how much WW takes fury. Luckily we can change the builds quickly and test different things out.
Furious Charge with health regen for escape ability.

I kinda always hated the mercenary idea in D2 except for hiring one in Act2 to die for Duriel. In LOD it was pretty much a mandatory for extra damage and survivability but in Classic it wasn't usable since you couldn't keep one specific Mercenary so I kidna learned to play without one.

Also no RMAH in HC, besides I just wanna have fun in the game and randomly sell stuff that I don't need.

The rune thing is ok. It would have been nice to collect those too but it would make it very tedious to try out different skill combinations. And also it would be hard at the start to get all the runes you wanted.

If your viewing distance is not very long I'd rather buy some 27" monitor.

We all can reach lvl60 quite easily so there is no point for the ladder. Only if you still gained exp after hitting 60 you could rank people by their exp.

First bad experience was in lvl 27 at City of Damned. I went thru river to damned and had a huge lag spike. My computer only had 64Mb of RAM and loading new areas really was nightmare (this was year 2000).
Next times I don't really remember, when you got 30 with barb and got Whirlwind all things was very very easy before you hit Hell and started to face some nasty bosses (MSLE).
General tactic.. in early levels at least.. lots of survival skills. In D2 it was vitality basically. If you started a game with "New game here"- theme where there was about 8 people starting new chars. By the time you reached Act2 about 3/8 people had gotten killed
The longer you get the more powerful skills and stats you get. Then you can repeat easier areas for exp if you think the next area is too difficult. At very beginning there is not much to do but to push forward.

Barbarian is durable in the starting levels which will help to get to know the game etc.
It is more risky ofc when you have to get close to monsters.

I didn't do much save&exit during D2, most of my deaths which were not so many in fact was because of lag or some instakill sort of thing.

Built the first parts of it in 2007. I still have some HDD's the motherboard and 2Gigs of memory left from the original setup.
Upgraded my cpu in 2009 from E6600 to Q9550 and also 2 more gigs of DDR2
Somewhere in 2010 I also upgraded my Antec Sonata III to Antec P193
Upgraded GPU in 2010 from 8800GTS (320MB) to HD5870 the Geforce broke
Upgraded screen in 2011 from 22" Samsung SyncMaster to 24" Dell UltraSharp 2401M
It's running BF3 quite nicely and I don't see a reason to upgrade right now. I think I wait for the Ivy Bridges and upgrade the whole package then.

No boss runs for me at least. It's good that they reward for killing tough monsters (champions) I hope there is also some kind of reward system when you complete the boss quest so that would be the utimate loot you can get from a boss monster + some other stuff he might drop from the quest kill.
