Every time I have killed Duriel it has always been with a hireling. Use them as the diversion and bash Duriel while his back is turned. As soon as your mercenary is dead (usually within a few seconds), make a dash for the portal. Resurrect merc, restock potions, and repeat the above steps untill he's dead.
ALWAYS remember the town portal! That way, even if you die, you will have a short cut back to Duriel's chamber.
would you buy diablo 3 if it had a monthly charge?
Hell no!
The monthly subscription scheme is utterly ridiculous. The game would have to be absolutely revolutionary to have me pay ongoing costs to play it, and even then I would complain bitterly.

I hope to god it's not another hack-n-slash
If it was a first person game, I believe they should look to Dark Messiah for inspiration. Although sorely lacking in story line, voice acting, etc. etc., Dark Messiah has the most exiting and intense combat of any game I have ever played.
I sure hope so. But please, let it not be 'World of Diablo'.
Please maintain the already rich storyline, do not let is slip into being a simple, cheap MMO (even though many people already see Diablo II as being just that). And really, no subscribing and ongoing costs for the privilege of playing it... it really gives the impression that all the games creators think of is money, and it was not always that way - the care and effort put into the Diablo storyline so far is proof of that.
I would personally like to see a first person Diablo game. The last two in the series were really only detached, third person games because of technical limitations. A first person - or perhaps over-the-shoulder third person - Diablo can only improve the atmosphere in those games.
I've been a die hard Diablo fan ever since I first stepped into the Tristram monastry. For some reason the Diablo series left a huge impression on me. How they can fit so much atmosphere - feeling - into a third person RPG series is beyond me... maybe it can be largely attributed to Matt Uelmen's skill as a composer in providing incredible tracks to match each map so perfectly...
Anyway, I'm glad to see there are still plenty of fans still interested in the Diablo series!
I have never noticed this before, but today I discovered that there appears to be more than one version of the Diablo II cover art. Does anyone know why they changed it?
Have a look at the two pics I have provided. The first one is the common Diablo II box - like the one I own. The second differs in that the hood on the skeletal face is raised to reveal the hole that was created when the soulstone was thrust into the head (end of dthe first Diablo).
In the common version of the box art, the fracturing of the skull caused by the soulstone is still visible, but not the hole itself. I am merely interested as to why there are two different versions of the Diablo II cover art - to me, the hole visible in the second picture has significant meaning, although I would prefer the other version if I was asked to choose based only on looks.

I liked Diablo I and II, and experienced a great deal of immersion in those games, but think how much more immersing Diablo could be in first person!

Oh dear... To be perfectly honest, I had no idea that thing even existed when I first started using the name 'Snarf'.
I took the name from Spellforce: The Order of Dawn, in which you fight a goblin named Snarf.

Nothing at all!
Diablo is what they do best. None of their other offerings have ever compared!

I'm pretty sure they are just using an old image.
I have enquired a couple of times in the past, but never received any definite answer.

Yes, thats what I thought. I have been trying to get my hands on the 'exposed head' version - I'm sort of a collector.

Any thoughts?
