A: Very rarely (about 1 in 1000 builds or even less) we observe that a build has a keyword or link in it that triggers our automatic spam system. One common example is a link like URL shorteners (e.g., "goo.gl") which can be abused to direct users to malicious content. If you suspect that this happened, wait a few minutes and try to post your build again, this time without the keyword/link that caused the issue. If the problem persists, post in this thread:
A: Short answer - no. The Builds section uses the official Diablo 3 API, and PTR items are nowhere to be found in that database (and subject to change anyways, so any builds are likely to be outdated). You can, however, create a build and add item names in the description or use placeholders.
Q: Patch X.Y is going live soon, when will the new items be added to the Builds section?
A: Again, as the tool uses the official Diablo 3 API for most accurate and up-to-date data, the Builds section will be populated with those items once they are on the official website. This is usually around the time when the patch hits live servers.
Q: When can I create builds for the upcoming patch X.Y?
A: In theory. you can create those builds now and update them once the patch goes live. However, note that the frontpage widget does not feature builds that have been created after a certain date (to avoid that we see the same build for several seasons, just being updated). This is the only drawback - if you don't care about the frontpage widget, you can just take your existing builds and update them with new items, text, and other information as often as you want and for as long as you want.
Q: I've found an error in the Builds section. What to do?
A: Message the mods, or make a thread in this forum, or just post in this thread, and we'll look into it.
Maybe as a disclaimer that I should've added to the first post, which should provide a tentative answer to your question: I've made this post very briefly based on information from previous patches/season rollovers. I don't remember when exactly the frontpage update happened before, and when it will happen this time. Will try to find out though and edit the information accordingly. Just wanted to answer some recurring questions I saw recently as quickly as possible, since the holidays slowed down the information flow (and it's just picking up).

Patch 2.4 is live - and our build tool is updated as well!
