Goblin madness continues. This time I ran into my first - not double - but triple goblin rift. Crowd control and smart use of your environment is necessary to 'catch them all'. On the last pack we managed to surround them from both sides. No escape!
With progression now halting around T3-4 prior to end-game set acquisition, legendary items are easier to find. The majority are still unusable, but you have to get Forgotten Souls from somewhere. To that end, I saved up 60 more to see if I could find anything useful. In addition, I attempted the system clock change 'trick' to prevent the game from lagging other players when too many items are identified at once, but it only seems to work on your system. Everyone else still sees the items. Enjoy!
I don't recommend gambling weapons (1 or 2 handed) unless you absolutely have nothing better to spend your shards on because - currently - the item pool is too large. Hopefully in the upcoming patch(es) this will be fixed to an extent.
I will be making other gambling-related videos in the future - primarily on loot table 'targeting' - but until Kadala gets patched and the 500 blood shard limit is increased, this is it. Hope you enjoyed the series!
We're almost done guys! Today I do 500 shards on 1 handed weapons. I don't recommend rolling this slot until it gets fixed because currently the item pool is too large. You can see from the video that you get all sorts of weapons unrelated to your class. On top of that, the 15 shard cost is fairly prohibitive.
I'm not big on tinfoil theories, but after reading through the 'loot table limiting' thread on the forums I decided to put it to a test. If a loot table is in fact generated once during any particular game so long as you stay in the game, and that loot table is identical for monsters and Kadala, then a practical application of this would be to gamble for that same item type. Others could drop of course, but it would increase your chances of getting a better roll.
If this is true and continues unchanged, then gambling for set items from Kadala (once the change goes into place) will become a very lucrative way to gear out your characters. In this video I gamble 500 shards on sources after finding a Mirrorball and what do you know ... 3 sources, one of which is another Mirrorball. Take it for what it's worth. I will be doing some more 'throttled' testing in the new future and report back with any interesting findings.
Today I go through 500 shards on Amulets. I got lucky and ended up with 3, but to be fair I previously rolled 1000 shards and got nothing (didn't upload those videos), so the 1 per 500 'rule' seems to apply. However, the 20 blood shard cost does make it seem like you're not getting as much.
Quick video showing a somewhat chaotic goblin rift. I wish Blizzard would make rifts more fun with stuff like this. Not gobs necessarily, but random encounters (kind of like Cursed Chests/Shrines) to further randomize a rift. A Jar of Souls style 'mini event' for instance would be awesome. I think we got them all. Enjoy!
Today I go through 500 more blood shards to see if I can get a 'generic' shield on a non-Crusader. I still end up with a ton of Crusader shields (smart loot, eh?) and no legendaries. Normally I wouldn't post this, but I'm over gambling shields. From my testing as well as others', it seems that outside of a Crusader it's a lot harder to get a legendary. It doesn't seem to follow the 1% 'rule'. To date I've gambled 1000 shards on Crusader and got 1 shield. 1500 shards on Barb and nothing. Take it for what it's worth.
Fortunately there are only a couple shields worthwhile for the Crusader, and Stormshield is nice overall, so you're not missing much.
Asheara's Vestments is a great progression set and arguably the easiest to craft because the required mat can be farmed quickly and consistently. I farmed up 50 Iron Wolves Doctrines in about an hour. Both the 2 piece (100 All Resist) and 3 piece (20% Life) set bonuses will easily get you into Torment 1 if you're having trouble, and with some set stacking from the Royal Ring of Grandeur (Aughild's, Blackthorne's, Captain's, Born's), it's not too hard to progress to T4 and beyond. Even without the ring, the 3 piece bonus is hard to pass up unless you have great gear. Today I craft and reroll several pieces and explain the results.
As the series nears conclusion, today I go through 500 shards on bracers. Similar to chest, this is a rarely rolled slot because most specs use Reaper's Wraps, a crafted item. However, for certain builds items like Strongarms are ideal and it's always nice to have a pair of Nemesis Bracers on swap for shrines.
Continuing on with the series, today I go through 500 shards on chest armor. This is a rarely gambled slot as the only item really worth having is Cindercoat. Aquila Cuirass and Goldskin seem to be popular drops.
Today I roll 500 shards on shields. I do it on a Crusader to see if 'targeted loot' is actually more targeted, since there's a larger pool of items (Crusader shields) to choose from. I'll most likely do another 500 on a Barb to check for any differences. Enjoy!
It's time to do 500 shards on rings. This is actually my 4th set (2000 shards total). The first 1000 I got nothing, the next 500 (sadly I didn't record it) I got 3, and on this I got 1, so the '1 legendary per 500 shards' theory holds up. Nothing notable, but if SoJs were dropping like flies it wouldn't be fun, right?
