Well, my favorite spells (Spectral Blades, Wave of Force, Explosive Blast) just happen to work in close range only and my favorite passives support close range+tanking (Audacity, Unwavering Will) as well. It would be kinda sad that just because I like these spells I'm forced to play on low Torment levels all the time, wouldn't it? :-)
Thanks for the Ghom runs. But yeah, you're running around and repositioning, which implies that on high Torment builds any kind of melee (or at least mid-ranged) wizard seems to be out of the question, and that makes me sad :-( I can stand in the cloud 100% of the time if Ghom doesn't attack me, but his hits are just too hard to sustain even with high mit & LoH.
Oh, and a TF. Of course. Phoenixscar and I have been playing at least as much as you (if what you say is true even more) and besides my WoW and his Moonlight Ward (just yesterday) we haven't found shit, one absolutely useless Tal's offhand, so essentially 0/4 Tal's, 0 TFs, and so on... *weep*...There's something about the mechanics of RNG that you know that we don't
@posters above me: I agree that Jaetch seems to have INSANE LUCK when it comes to legs (full Tal's set, Moonlight Ward with 10% crit) - but what makes this really work aren't the legendaries, but 1) good movement and awareness during the fight and 2) insanely high mitigation.
It's something that most wizards could achieve as well; you don't necessarily need to go for marquise diamonds, but this just goes to show how powerful a wizard can become if you don't go for glass canon but stack resistances and other defensive stats. If you'd replicate that, the kill speed would just be a bit lower, that's it. None of his legendaries grants him immunity or w/e.
@Jaetch: Have you tried to tank Ghom on T6? I've been looking for a build/defense gear set to use my WoW on Ghom, but since I need to be in close range I need insane tanking gear. I can fight Ghom on T6 w/o lifesteal while standing in his farts - if there's a tank. But I wonder if it's possible to ramp up mitigation and LoH to really tank Ghom as a wizard. I've tried a setup with similar mitigation as yours, more LoH, and proc-efficient spells. I haven't tried Belial yet, maybe I should've gone for that guy...
