The D3 barbarian is going to be able to kill tons of monsters in seconds just like the Monk or any other class in D3, but unlike the D2 barbarian, who was underpowered in Hell difficulty unless you had godly gear.
So, the barb is gona own you can count on that.
Well, WoW realty made me leery of Blizz so I fully admit that I may be overly skeptical. The PvP vs. PvE balancing dilemmas really hurt the warrior.
But all accounts point to what you are saying!:)

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
I think Barbarian will be pretty simple and well you know.. Barbarian-yish, like a big fucked off bear with giant axes and full plate armor with spikes on 'em.
If you're worried that the Barbarian will be WoW Warrior type-yish, fear not. He's after all, a Barbarian
Yeah, I hope they stick with his burliness, and the same general feel in D2.
I was a horse trader. I liked to MF and hit runs for the thrill of the drops. That meant a lot of in your face killing action.

Well, that's a good point, but it seems to have some parallels.
I didn't mind the rage mechanic per se, but Blizz wasn't able to balance that it seems, which lead to warriors always being overpowered or underpowered. The chose to make them underpowered.
I hope they seek to duck these kind of issues.

My first foray into gaming was Diablo 2, after I bought it for my son but got hooked myself. After my cd's literally cracked in half from years of use, I went on to WoW after a year or so.
So as barbs were by far my favorites, I went on to warriors. After a long while, man was I disappointed. In the effort to make everything in WoW "vanilla" , Blizz seemed to strip much of appeal of the "warrior like" melee classes that attracts me to them: the simplicity, independent survivability and "in your face" aspect of combat, especially in a PvE realm.
So going from WoW's warriors back to my beloved Barbs, this is a concern for me. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
I wish I could take credit for it, but I can't.

Yeah. Tedious tasks did not bother me. As a farmer though, the whole SoJ/hack thing really bugged me.
I found that through trading, I made a lot of friends in game. A lot of this was on peripheral boards though.
