Alright I'll add you. I kind of suck at multiplayer though so you might wish to just join me against the computer for now. I still am heart broken though over not being able to have all those cool units you got in the campaign.
edit: How annoying. I go to look up your information in the character ID thread and you haven't provided yours yet. Very, very annoying that I just did that.
Kerrigan didn't die from the artifact because she was mostly human. If you listened to the guy talking about it in the last mission you would have heard that it was at a frequency that doesn't effect humans. So only the zerg in her was slain.
Um, I did pay attention to all that. What I'm saying is that it seems that with how powerful she was to control the Zerg and even regenerate (or seemingly reincarnate herself according to the last mission) that she wasn't just a Zerg infested human anymore but a true hybrid with all her human and Zerg parts now fully integrated. What I mean is, because she is so powerful and able to control so many Zerg, then with that power you shouldn't just be able to shut yourself off and go back to normal. Even if it is at the the whim of a powerful artifact. I'm not saying they didn't explain it in the story. I'm just saying I didn't like how the writers decided the nature of her infestation should be.
Raynor didn't want her dead, or hurt or slapped or anything because it wasn't her that did anything. The zerg took her. It was almost like she was just a vessel. She had nothing to do with the billions lost at her hand other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Oh come on. She had to have had SOMETHING to do with it all. I mean, did she really have no free will? No control over any of her actions? Cause it was still her making all the decisions for what to do with the Zerg. I'm just surprised this isn't bothering more people. Everyone seems perfectly satisfied that the reason she did all of these things was only because the Zerg in her MADE her do it. And sure, she would not have killed all the billions of people had she not become a Zerg, but what isn't it just more plausible that she was already something of an evil person, trying not to do bad things as a Ghost, but being compelled to anyway, and as a Zerg, she had so much power at her fingertips that whatever good was left in her was probably corrupted just on all that power alone, and not just cause she was part Zerg? And just cause I said I wished Raynor had smacked her around a bit, doesn't mean you all have to take that literally. Sheesh! The point I was making when I said that was that he didn't have to be so benevolent toward her either. He's carrying her out of the cave like, a little too lovingly. "Everything's gonna be alright, darlin'." This is his attitude. And I was just saying that yes, he can be all in love with her all he wants. But maybe he should still have a conscience about all that she did and seem kind of pissed off at all that she put him through.
I just can't believe so many of you are all, "Well she couldn't help it! It was the Zerg in her!" And if that Zerg in her was so influential enough to deprive her of any free will, then you'd kind of thing the infestation in her was so bad that the blast from the artifact would have killed her as she was so much infested. I don't know. I'm not saying that it seemed totally unrealistic or anything cause how can you say that about all this alien stuff. I'm just saying I'm surprised that more of you didn't raise your eyebrow at Raynor's total forgiveness toward Kerrigan. Remember how fucking annoying that bitch was in Brood Wars? Hell, even the original Starcraft? And all the things Raynor said to her about killing her one day. I know she's an important part of the story so she can't just die, but I seriously had blue balls from him not kicking her while she was down. And to make it all worse he had to carry her out like Jesus or something.
I was so sad about Tychus. That was a huge bummer.
God, I wasn't at all. He was so annoying. I mean, he can tear shit up without any regard to human life, kill waves and waves of people, but then he sees Kerrigan and he fucking fails miserably to put a bullet in her stupid face. All because he's enamored by her looks for a few distracting moments. It's okay though that he died. I was getting really sick of his Alabama southern white trash drawl.
And and to those of you who I added to my friend's list on Battle.net, you're either never on or you ignore my messages so I'm deleting your sorry asses.
Ah okay then. I'll try to find it again. I felt kind of stupid as I figured it had to be there but I wasn't seeing it. I realize making maps is much harder now. But as long as you're not trying to add triggers and objectives other than killing everything it's never too bad. I usually like making maps where you can only reach your enemy by air.
When it came time to choose the Science Vessels in the lab I actually went with that other vessel (forgot its name). I do hope in future patches they allow more of these units to be built. I understand simplifying skirmish and multiplayer games to a point, but there were just tons of units in the campaign that you didn't get enough time to play around with. Then once you go to single skirmish or multiplayer, you don't even get those units anymore. Such a tease.
And is there no map editor in this game? One of my favorite past times used to be making SC maps to play on.
I thought it was stupid that Kerrigan was turned human by the end of the campaign. Like, I don't care how powerful this Xel'Naga artifact was. If it was really so powerful to kill all the Zerg in the area, it should have just killed Kerrigan as well. And Raynor, stupid idiot, he could have at least slapped her across the face for killing billions of people. Are we supposed to believe that she did ALL those bad things just because she was a Zerg? I don't think so. Kerrigan was supposed to be a broken person from the beginning. The life of a Ghost as far as we understand it is not an easy one and there are hints that Kerrigan is kind of a bad person even before she became a Zerg. But instead, this magical artifact turns her back into human and Raynor's all, "It's all good. I know you didn't mean all that genocide stuff."
I think it might have been a more poignant scene at the end if she at least tried to resist Raynor. Instead of just letting him pick her up, maybe she would crawl away all scared as if he was gonna kill her. And I hate Raynor's character so bad now. I kind of hated him throughout the campaign anyway cause he's all, "We gotta save her!" Like how stupid is that? And what bothers me about the Xel'Naga artifact is that it's too powerful. Kerrigan's been a Zerg for so long that there are just some things that should be irreversible. And if it killed all Zerg life within the blast radius, why didn't it destroy all sorts of shit on her? Not counting her bone hair, but it would've been at least a little more convincing if her skin was melted off in more places or just bleeding out of all her orifices.
At any rate, I was just pissed and kind of disappointed in Raynor. He could have at least grabbed her by the bone hair and dragged her out of the cave. I mean, that bitch was killing all my Battlecruisers in one hit. Even my hired one! I loved that ship! Okay, so maybe he's not gonna bitch slap her or drag her out by the hair. But he could've at least come off as more ambivalent toward her. Yes, he's in love with her, but he's also gotta hate her somewhat for all the people she's killed and not just believed that she had absolutely no free will during her infestation. Damn you Tychus! You miserable failure. You know how Raynor feels about Kerrigan but instead of quickly putting a bullet in her head you have to sit there and go, "Damn shame, but I reckon' I gotta kill this purty girl now." Stupid idiot.
The campaign was still fun as hell though. That last mission was so hard. It was impossible with the Nydus Worms. I thought when choosing whether to take out the air support or Nydus Worms that I'd be totally able to handle the ground units but I was so wrong. Those Nydus Worms spawned clear the hell out there and I was never fast enough with my Banshees to take them all out before my base got overrun. But after doing the mission again with taking out the Worms I was finally able to beat the campaign. And how cool was it that we got to play a few Protoss missions?
One thing that bothered me just a bit about the campaign though was how like when you'd get a new military unit. And when this happens, it's kind of fun to experiment with it, test its abilities and strategic potential. The problem is that a lot of these missions have a sense of urgency about them. Where you need to get to somewhere fast or you fail the mission. Or maybe you need to protect something far away so you can't have fun with defending your base against waves of attacks. The missions were fun and really dynamic and I enjoyed the narrative and everything, but sometimes I wanted just to sit back and build huge armies and have big battles with 200 of my guys against 200 of theirs. There were a couple missions like this though like the ones where I have to upload the old Mengsk recording on the Dominion broadcast towers. But that missions was way to easy for Normal and I conquered all the enemy bases easily.
So right now I'm kind of screwing around on the player versus AI single player games. I'm a little upset cause I can't train Specters, I have to settle for Ghosts. And can I really not train Medics? I just couldn't believe it. I was playing a skirmish game against the computer and the Zerg slaughtered me. And all those fun upgrades and research I got in the campaign (such as the awesome regenerative metal tech) I no longer have any access too. Meeeee!!!
