NOW,HIRE ME AS A JUNIOR GAME DEVELOPER, BLIZZARD. THANK YOU
Sry to disappoint you. The blizz people already know all that.
Fixing the game for the most dedicated players and the streamers is supereasy. Players are watching streams because they care about the game. If the game is changed in a way that it works awesome for streamers, fulltime-players and other very dedicated people, but not for the average player, why should the average player watch streams about that game, a game that has nothing to offer for his kind.
Diablo 3 is a supermainstream ARPG. It needs to be. Without the mainstream, no public interest.
Yes, you can be top#1 in the leaderboards and complain that gearing is too fast. You can also play a game where gearing takes 1500 hours and after 1200 hours you get your item and youre superproud and superhappy and its the best day of your life, but the game takes too much time for most players, so youre top#1 in a game that no one cares about.
There can't be an "elite" without the majority.
Finally someone who understands
There are so many right now who feels that the more casual player base is not worthy of the game or something. They just don't realize the game would not have survived without this group who make up the majority.

"Hope... Do not look down, my friend. Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. Hope for a better day, hope for a new dawn. Or just hope for a good breakfast. You start small, then see what you can get."
it's not a bad thing when a game ends. It is a bad thing when a game is dragged on with super low droprates, though. That's not longevity, that's artificial stretching.
This, I second that. The game should keep the players interested with new challenges that will test the players' skills. Dropping the drop-rate through the floor only challenges one set of skill - not banging your head on your keyboard kind of skill XD
That being said, there has to be some balance there. I find it ok right now since having the item dropped does not mean that item is desirable. I got bunches of legendaries and ancients but the stats are far from optimal. It enables me to play on higher difficulties but I can never dream of pushing the GR so high. So the hunt continues. This is already tough enough, at least for me

Yup I know and I have already voted. I think it is just fine for me. I cannot speak for others, of course

Personally I'm not quite sure how to derive satisfaction from doing the same thing over and over for prolonged period of time just to get 1 specific gear. I almost drop D3 in its vanilla stage and start playing more in RoS (and I know some people may bash me for this but I never really enjoy D2 apart from playing the story line).
May be Bliz has finally realized that there are quite a lot of people like me and decide to expand their target audience a bit. Although right now the issue is there is not much variation in terms of challenge in the game. So I will end up feeling bored sooner or later. But at least not as fast as what happened to me in D2 and D3 vanilla.
Also, without Haedrig's gift I will never play Seasonal. Why should I? All my best builds are in non-season and you are asking me to farm for every single thing again? Within 2-3 months period? My apology, I have other things to do in life and that apparently make me a "filthy casuals" in many people's eyes
Feels bad man...
