Ah, the vocal minority starts to beat his chest and roar. This is a real beautiful display that shows how this fantastic creature has survived so long. When it does this defensive maneuver it is attempting to make itself seem larger then he actually is.
Such an amazing display.
ROFL
I'm not sure where the 100's of thousandths comes from either.
No, that actually proves that people have no idea how graphics are made at all. You keep using sharp edges on those screens and that would take a lot more polygons in 3D. It's easy to operate with 2D. It's easy to put a tint on a static picture. But when it comes to models and lighting and performance it gets much more complicated.
Post processing techniques made things extremely easy in the last few years.
I have to say after messing around, the really major problem about the current graphics is them being washed out... Notice how in my "manipulations" the colors remain warm and strong, so all you guys screaming "we dont want a grey game", can shut up now, its now about being grey
I just hope Blizzard sees this...
I like it but some of the textures would have to be changed, too.
Such as the rocks on the side, for example. Way too washed out and... Just blend looking.
Don't tell me to STFU, little misunderstanding child. I meant to say when it comes out, it will come out improved b'cuz blizz has so much time to do it. But some of these whinners here are already complaining it just GOT ANNOUNCED.... FUCK, I believe there is already a complain thread.
The more we complain, the better Blizzard will hear us.
Avid players of the previous installments of Diablo understand why ambiance, mood, texture, grit, and macabre play such an important role in the series. I remember being about twelve and venturing into the final level of the catacombs; the fear was palpable. From the pools of blood that gathered in the wrecked stone floors to the corpses which were callously strewn across the unforgiving landscape, D2 had a definite and dynamic element of terror that D3 seems to have been left behind. One complaint in particular that has me a bit dumbfounded is the notion that everything doesn't have to be so sinister and that D2 had scenes which ran replete with sunshine and hope; this wasn't the case. Disparity was the overwhelming mood. Act 2 is a great example of this. It'll take you about ten steps outside the city's walls before you discover fly ridden-bodies spitted on spears and left to roast in the desert sun. These little touches is WHAT MADE ME LOVE THIS GAME! I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I want to see pure, unadulterated, sadomasochistic evil! I want the backgrounds to display the most heinous, hell ridden acts of depravity and hedonism. I want a spine shivering experience of true horror! I want a worthy successor to the morally bankrupt environment which is DIABLO!
I think you have it a little too drastic since, personally, I wouldn't want Diablo 3 to be a survival-horror type of game. But for the boss fights, hell yeah.
I personally enjoyed the light radius. Much more realistic in a dark dungeon.
+1
As for the OP, I'd say it's way too dark, almost black & white (well, gray that is). On the plus side, I'd prefer your version better than what it is now.

Look at the Unreal Engine, for example.

Good job.

Good (INTENSE!) memories.
Cartoonish and unrealistic are not synonyms.
A game can be unrealistic but it doesn't have to be cartoonish (ie, Crysis).
Is this how you would imagine a world full of evil, disparity, and violence? Of course not.
