Blizzard always slates their games with a projected release date of Dec 31, then based on whether they think they have all the bugs (or at least most of them) or if other things need touching up or not, they will move the release date either forward or backwards.

I tried to find the bliizard news article on "5 years of Diablo II", but they dont archive back that far. least i dont think they do, that or i just didnt look hard enough.

What I find strange is that no one mentioned Diablo II, 1999. Maybe they will do something on 2009, also if there's a BlizzCon in 2009 then I'm ready to freak. I mean, why celebrate the game that most "gamers" think sucks(1) (the ones of todays world). Blizzard would want to celebrate Diablo II, when millions are still playing today (ok maybe 100,000's, I don't know anything for sure this just came to my head).
there was a blizzard news thingy ages back, celebrating 5 years of Diablo II.
