I enjoy the game a ton! However, the current beta is very boring.. and the PTR is even worse
There is no reward for playing, and you feel like you hit a wall almost instantly if you're a good/efficient player
I played for only a few hours, and got all the gear I have been using for the past week... Smart drops is a bad system in my honest opinion. I am forced to play the class in order to upgrade it, making me feel like I am starting the game over completely with every character. I would like to be able to play my WD and find a few items here or there for a different class...
Smart drops+ Mystic espeically, makes the game feel like it's not worth playing. Why bother? You don't have to farm for anything.. every item you find is automatically geared toward you and then it's just about re rolling a certain stat. It is no longer about finding the right properties on items... It's about finding the right number of properties on items

I don't use any immunity gear, just the legendary that pulls them together, and I have farmed 2 piece earthquake set from this build as well!
Otherwise my build is
HotA (birthright) / WotB (crit = 300% dmg one)
Threatening shout (taunt) / Revenge (crit chance) / Battle Rage (into the fray) / Earthquake (no cost)
If I try and kill stuff I usually sit around 16m EHP and 700k DPS, otherwise for farming purposes, I put on a crappy dagger and sit at 21m EHP and about 400k DPS and just smash away for the loots =)
Essentially (as the video shows, which I suggest you check out!) You just sit there and spam HotA and revenge for the health
Also, I put 1 paragon point into splash dmg and because I have 100% CHC, the splash damage spawns even MORE globes =) Again, check out those videos, you'll see me getting legendaries too!
So I have a download limit at my university.. So I downloaded the PTR on my laptop, put it on an external, transfered it, and now on my desktop it is installing it all over again =(((
I'd love to have my stream added! I'm a relatively new streamer, but I love doing it! And I will be streaming the PTR/Beta (if I get the beta =/ ) all day 'er day!
I've never liked summoner classes, but since a lot of people seem to, I agree that there should be more buffs, at least to the WD summons.
It seems though that there are a LOT of legendaries that will help with summons for the WD, such as double pet damage, life linked pets ect. Also, there's a lot of legendaries that summon specific minions, so it'l be fun to see a WD try and stack every one possible, like the angel / demon / fallen from weapons, or the horde of skellys from the skeleton king legendary, ect. I think there's some good possible synergies with the new unique affixes.
They definitely have made a move in the right direction with the new legendary affixes! There still needs to be some work done though!
So in D3V, obviously summoning is not even an option... In RoS it has potential but is still not nearly as effective as many other builds for the WD, and so I have some suggestions to appease the summoners in the community (myself included)
1) Allow summon fetish army to stack if you are able to cast it before the old ones die, or in the case that you have 4 piece zuni set, raise the cap on the number so you can at least have 2 summons of fetishes.
2) Buff zombie dogs please! They are just so weak, they have no use besides sacrificing or possibly 100% LoH
3) Make the minion passives apply to fetishes? I never understood why the 2 passives only buff your Garg and Zombie Dogs.. it would make sense that they buff all of your minions.
4) Increase the chance to summon fetish sycophant from the passive! I think it is currently too low, since you can seemingly cast for a LONG time with no results. I think buffing the minions slightly in these ways would allow for an end game, high quality, minion build! If anyone else has any ideas, please share! I want my summoner so bad =(
Another Idea I had was to add minion variety! For instance, zombie dog could have new runes like
-Summon 4 zombies who have a chance to taunt nearby enemies
-Summon several skeletons that reduce enemy armor/resistance on hit
-Summon slain foes
-Summon Demons who buff you or something
Anything to add a little more options for minion variety instead of simply dogs/garg/fetish
Theoretically, at least. Of course, after a few hundred hours, you'll never need to pick up a rare again, which is sad.
This perspective is so interesting to me because I feel like after a few hundred hours of play, I've earned being decked out in Legendary items.
I mean, there's got to be a top-end somewhere, and that top-end has to be Legendary, otherwise Legendary isn't the top tier in the game and people call them lame.
I guess there's just a fine line for when the need of something becomes obsolete... However, even things like whites still have more value in comparison to rares imo. A white is still needed at level 70 even though it's the least valuable type of item. I think that at end game, White, Blue, and Rare items should all still have their values, but respective to their power.
If those new affixes on legendaries are really that game changing, you dont need one of them on every slot. One leg with one game changing affix should be enugh. Rest of the slots can still be filled with the items with most stats as long as you have your game changer affix.
The way it was in d2. Rares have the potential to roll better stats than legendaries, but can not roll those gamechanger affixes.
This needs to be balanced really well though.
1 : those affixes must be good enugh that you actually want them and not just put rares with more stats in every slot
2 : the classes must still be playable without that game changing legendary for the people with no RNG-luck...
3 : Legendaries can not have too much of an stat disadvantage or people will again ignore them.
So we need d2 rares with d3-ros legendaries.
The only thing is that the legendaries, as they currently stand, are too valuable even if they all have "game changing" affixes. For instance, I would want a 4 piece zuni set for the everlasting fetishes, a legendary one hander for reduced CD on bbv and fetish army, and gloves and helm for minion damage. Those would simply be the smartest items to get for if you wanted to make a minion build on the WD. Now the other slots could hold rares, but that usually isn't the case. The rare would have to offer A LOT to make for, let's say, immunity to fire, or 20% resource with each health globe, or 25%dmg when moving or something of the sort.
In the end I think legendaries are good how they are in a sense. I enjoy them being so powerful, but they are too accessible at the same time. I think also the fact that the materials from rares or blue or whites are still essentially useless.
Idk, there are a lot of things they could do to help fix, we just have to wait and see what they choose!
P.S. It is such a relief to post in here and not JSP where the only thing anyone says is "Games shit"
