First off, I am a gear-swapper. With that out of the way, in Act 3 Inferno, I used to see at least one rare off of the first 5 champ packs (at which point the guaranteed rare kicks in). Not only that, but frequently I would see two, and sometimes three in these first five packs. Since the patch, I have only gotten two rares off of the first pack and then none off of the next four. They were a level 57 and 52. Could be random, yes. Then my friend who uses the same technique with roughly the same MF sends me a message that he has gotten absolutely no rares off of his first five packs.
Now, when farming with 5 stacks I would usually see 2 rares, rarely 1, and sometimes 3. I've killed 6 packs @ 5 stacks now and I know this sample size is piss all, but bear with me. Out of the 7 packs, I got a 57 from one, a 62 from another, a 59, 60, and 61 from one, and the other three dropped no rares at all!
I don't know what to make of this, I really don't... This is seriously... wtf...
Reformatted the OP a little bit to make the current offer more visible. Also added a minimum accepted bid increment. The bid increment usually isn't an issue on the forums, but I added it just in case.
You can bid by either posting in this thread or sending me a PM. Be sure to include your Battletag in your message/post.
Auction ends Thursday, 7/12, at 10:00pm PST.
NOTE: I am running this auction across several forums. I am keeping track of all bids across all of them and updating each of the posts accordingly. I will update them several times daily.
Important: The minimum bid increment that I will honor is 50k.
First, this is not a flame post or a post for venting. I simply want to get some feedback from other individuals who regularly sell and are successful on the GOLD AH. The question is simple: are any of you noticing that it has become increasingly difficult to get items to sell? I consider myself quite a good seller. I search through pages upon pages and various filter options when listing a high-end item up so that I can price it fairly, and this last time around all ten of my auctions returned unsold. This was the first time this has happened since release. Three of my friends who regularly play the game are also experiencing difficulty selling items on the Gold AH.
Are my friends and I simply at a low point, or are some of you noticing similar trends?
Secondly, what do you think could be the cause of it? I personally don't think it's because everyone prefers to buy from the RMAH, since there must be plenty of players out there like myself who still only buy gear with gold. I'm thinking it might just be a general decline in the playerbase, or maybe it could be because many people now only sell good items on RMAH and therefore have no gold to buy high end items with anymore. I know that would be the case for me, except that I'm currently trying to earn as much gold as possible to buy the EG Gloves pattern, at which point I'll go back to RMAH selling.
What do you guys think is the most profitable pattern to craft? I think this merits a discussion. I've disregarded weapons for now as I don't think they are nearly as profitable as armor. It used to be that the gloves were the most profitable due to AS, but now that things have changed a little I'm curious to see if that opinion has also changed. I tend to think that of all of the armor patterns the chest, helm, and the legs fall behind the others due to the necessity of rolling at least a socket or two in order to get an item with extraordinary value. I think the boots are just slightly above those three due to Movement Speed being almost a necessity as well.
So my vote is still on the gloves, but I think it comes close with the bracers. I think that if you can roll good stats on the bracers together with Crit Chance, then you can make some good money. The shoulders and belt are in my opinion good, safe neutrals as they don't NEED to roll anything in particular as there is nothing unique to those slots.
I cleared Act 2 with a 2H barb. The answer is yes, but you definitely have to pour much more gold into your gear than any other class currently. I had at least 10million invested in my gear as I was progressing. For the last bit (Zoltun + Belial) I used a 1350DPS blue 2hander I scooped off the AH for 2.3mil (which was a good price at the time). I killed Belial with like 24k DPS, 550+ RA with shout, and no Life on Hit.
EDIT: I also only had like 5800 armor AFTER shout.
The answer is yes, it's possible, but man it takes a ton of gear. The hardest part of the entire deal was phase 1 Belial because those adds hit sooooo hard. Using Pound of Flesh is a must for that fight. I've done it without but it was exponentially more difficult. I used Pound of Flesh and the two armor passives.
Currently progressing in Act 3 as Dual Wield with 31k DPS, ~1400 Life on Hit, and 3.20 attacks/sec and doing fairly well for myself. Of course by this point I now have at least 45mil invested in my current gear, with another 10mil or so to go.
