It's been said many times that the beta content is 1/3 of act 1.
Hard to guestimate the total length of the game.... need to know if each act is same length roughly... and how many acts etc.
Plus factor in the difficulty scaling up dramatically through NM and Hell into Inferno.
I think the question of "Will they stay after the beta contests finish?" is irrelevant.
Even if people leave after the contests finish, the promo did it's job ~ increased awareness of the D3 fansites.
Alot of people, now having being made to use these sites for the chance at a beta key, will probably continue to use them afterwards... even if it is a minority of the contest followers, it is still a gain in site users/traffic.
I admit that I have lost some interest in D3 over the last few months of waiting... for something to happen.
But it's mostly due to the fact that there are no games out that I am interested in to keep me busy... I'm pretty much waiting on D3 and GW2 to release, everything else seems to be filler. Still trying to score a beta key also... which would probably boost my morale for D3
It's a waiting game, and sometimes you get tired... But when the wait is over, i'll love it all, I know it.
Nobody wants to jump in at level 7 and get 1 shot by the level 53 person

The ranged classes could very well use the MF gem in helm slot,.... but they will have to be very good at evading to compensate.

I think they are breaking the meta-game... embrace the original.
We are now given incentive to reach max level so we can use all our abilities augmentations via the skillrunes.
I'm guessing the higher lvl skillrunes will be more powerful to aid you in those higher difficulty levels.
I do not see myself being able to make any substantial profit from selling on the RMAH, but hopefully... It would be nice
gives a +18% Life buff when socketed to Helm. This is a massive boost to life points
This makes your character "GODLY ... OF THE WHALE"
Any thoughts on whether this will be the MUST HAVE gem for end game content, and most likely most expensive, hardest to find/build/achieve?
I guess, depending on how they augment each particular skill, you will have to re-itemise for prefixes/suffixes to suit that version of the skill.
If they keep the droprates in check, it should be a good system
