yeah im ok with this. if its something i want, and i know i wont trade it ill wear it. if i dont have a use for it, i wont wear it and ill trade it. if im not sure, ill hold onto it, see what the market is and go from there.
this wont ruin my experience at all, it will just make me more cautious with my loot
with them gone, maybe there an inbetween method between waypoints?
like youve passed a waypoint a while ago the end of the dungeon isnt in sight, maybe theres a dusty tome on the shelf that opens a portal, or portal shrine.
that way you dont have an escape route all the time, but still have that option in between waypoints.
if they wanted to keep them in, but still maintain their fast paced action mantra, just make it so you cant use them in combat
i know what you mean about the crown, that was the first thing i noticed when i saw the page changed on friday.
i feel like for their next update i would be happy to see a few items they are working on, or that are done, rather than a new monster or area.
if what is pictured there is entry level gear, i cant wait to see how awesome my characters will look fully decked out! like when you click the barbarian, that belt he is wearing on his page is amazing. the witch doctors headdress is stunning too
honestly i like the old way they had it. where you could highlight or click them and they would step forward and roar or make a call, and a story came up.
it would be cool if the opposite sex model was standing behind the main model and you could highlight that one and bring it forward
blizzard is are a PC company, and diablo is a PC franchise. i regardless of what else it gets released on will buy it for PC and play on battle.net 2
im not match making on xbox live or psn haha
it was neat to play diablo on ps1 way back in the day, but the experience wasnt the same. i know they have streamlined the interface but i still dont think its console friendly. games that have many skills usually dont play so well.
i cant see junctioning skill trees to a d-pad then opening a grid to hotkey them to the buttons etc. doesnt sound fun, kinda like fable which was ok. blizzard doesnt do ok, they do amazing
A player that buys Starcraft 2 at retail will have the ability to play on Battle.net with no additional fee.
it was also noted that the above was a "carefully worded statement"
to me this reads, that any other game will incur a usage fee. so if you skip starcraft 2 and only buy diablo 3, you will pay a fee to use battle.net. if you buy starcraft, and diablo you will not incur a fee.
thats my interpretation.
since i plan to buy both, i wont pay a fee
but we can already see micro transactions incoming with the premium maps (for SC2, so its likely other properties will have premium content) and im sure they will charge for other features. personally i would pay 10-20$ one time for unlimited character creation, and no expirations on characters.
with all the money from micro transactions in wow they bring in, im sure they will come up with creative ways to do the same in diablo 3.
im a huge barbarian fan. when they debuted the game and showed off the barbarian all that love for d2 rushed back, and i went on a big nostalgia kick playing d2 again.
the power, the mayhem, the carryover from D2. i love it all
but i love all the other characters too! i just really love the barbarian.
the monks debut was sick! and everyone knows the wizard will be bananas. and i love all the twisted animals the WD can unleash
not me. im satisfied, and i got what i expected from blizzcon. they arent going to show off the whole game, and i hope they dont, i need some surprises once i get it out of the box.
small updates throughout the year, a couple mid size ones, and then the annual blizzcon reveal. im happy with that.
plus what they did show off this year was GREAT! who doesnt love the monk?
I think the blizzard team working on D3 is a bit slack, if they really wanted to they could get this game out the door in 2010, I'm not saying to rush the thing out but jesus christ blizzard has the resources to get this thing done quicker, hire more people whatever it takes, stop having these stupid blizzcons for christ sakes, blizzard only has a handful of games the sheer audacity of them to toot their own horn over a couple games... just showcase your damn titles at normal events like E3 etc.. if this game isn't coming out until 2011, they should have at least waited until now or early next year to announce it... I thought 2010 was a long time to wait after initially hearing about it in 2008, but now to hear 2011 and we're only half way through 2009, well I really think blizzard needs to pull their finger out and get this thing done!
wow was announced on sept 2 2001, and released november 23 2004. diablo 3 was announced june 28 2008, and is predicted to be out in 2011. so there is nothing slack or unprecedented going on there. granted they were in development prior to being announced, but still
i want it too, but im not getting bent out of shape over standard protocol
blizzcon is a great fan service, and blizzard itself must love seeing the reaction their products elicit from the people there. blizz wouldnt put the show on if legions of people didnt make it a bigger success every year. i would love to be there
and im sure if you talked to any developer and asked if they would rather have dozens of titles with low to moderate popularity, or a few and have loyalty and cash you dont know what to do with, im sure they would take the few. seems to work for nintendo too

Fuck you!!
I'm gonna be 26! 26!!!
Personally I'm prepared for 2012 though. They don't want to release the next blockbuster in less then a year after the release of SC2 AND WoW expansion. That would disturb the sales of said titles.
In short, 2011 is being optimistic. And that is me being realistic.
they have said that loosely quoted "anyone who purchases starcraft 2, will be able to use battle.net free of charge"
pretty straight forward.
now will they have micro transactions, special fees for bonus content and options? absolutely.
