I value OH as much as MH as I don't want to micro-manage my active weapon to set up SW.
Your gem is too low, it should be at least 70%+ green gem.
I'll work on that after the weapon.
I certianly don't have enough money to make it. And last time I checked (last night) they were about 900,000k gold.... I can't afford that as this point in time.
But I will get those as soon as possible. Thank you.
The weapon DPS of OH matters for monks, 500+ is just too low.
To achieve a 90k+ DPS, you need at least 900+ MH and 850+ OH, though the higher the easier to achieve hihg DPS.
I think I'll look into upgrading my offhand tonight then.
The video I followed said that the offhand DPS didn't really matter all that much, so you wanted to try to get as much crit damage as possible. I bought that one off of the AH for about 80k gold.
I'll probably try finding a higher dps offhand with the 1 million I have now, and put the same gem in it.
Any ideas on what would I could do (other then getting a ton of money to buy better items.)
THanks.
Nope. You do need a ton of gold to get 90k+. Don't expect miracles 1.5mil won't get you taht far (maybe +5-8k with a very lucky buy)
btw get crit on amulet, that'll boost the dps, but basically you'll need to replace every single piece u have atm.
Yeah I have a crit amulet. A really badass one actually. It gives me.... I can't really think of it off the top of my head since I'm at work... but something like 50% crit damage, 8.0% crit chance, some dex, along with 200 something minimum damage (I think?). It's roughly a 7k DPS increase for me.
The reason why I'm not wearing it is because I have 0 life on hit without it. I was having problems staying alive farming MP3. But, with that amulet (903 LoH) I'm able to pretty much stand in anything and keep myself alive.
the WKL is going to be "technically" more dps. It doesnt show on the paper but if you're using FoT - Thunderclap and/or SW - cyclone, you will see a big difference.
My WKL is about 5K less than the fist weapon it replaced but it did the same or better actual dps when fighting with it and i cleared stuff faster.
Yes I'm using both FoT - Thunderclap and SW - Cyclone
sorry I should of posted that in my original post.
First, here are the weapons I need help deciding which one to use...
I've been using the Assault Knack, and it's been working out pretty well. Just a few moments ago though, the Won Khim Lau dropped for me and I got (what I take as) a pretty decent stat roll on it.
Now I lose 1.9k damage by equpping the fist weapon (I lose 39% crit damage and about 120 dex), but what I'm trying to figure out, is if the Increase to my lighting damage makes it a bigger upgrade. I see a lot of top end monks using this fist weapon.
So basically, does the increase to my lighting damage make the fist weapon better then the sword?
If it matter, I'm farming MP3 at the moment, pretty easily with most things. Reflect damage gives me a hard time though.
I'm a little confused about monster power, this is the guide on this site says..
MP 2-3 will be equal to current difficultly in patch 1.0.4
at MP1 all monsters are now equal in difficulty throughout all 4 acts (this means the same ilvl drop chance)
I read this and say "sweet, if act 1 inferno is currently MP2-3, then if I turn it down to MP1 it should be easier then current inferno, and on top of that, act 2, 3 and 4 are gonna be just as easy, finally a chance to clear inferno without hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of farming better gear"
Then i read somewhere on the forums, that MP1 is gonna make all creatures roughly the same difficulty as act 3 and act 4....
But that is contradictory to what the guide on this site says. Since the currently difficulty is MP2-3
And the last part of your statement, "find upgrades yourself instead of using AH all the time that people whine about", is just dumbassery as its finest. Blizzard wants you to use the AH as much as possible. They are just tweaking the system to make people use it even more.
How exactly am I more likely to use the AH to buy items if I finally manage to get them drop for me? I haven't bought anything for my mains for over a month. Yesterday I managed to get 4 upgrades drop for me which is pretty good imo.
All I see is inflation of the prices.
You are not majority and neither am I for that matter.
Now, let's say some dude is playing his Wizard and finds an extremely useful glove for monks/DH. He thinks this might be his ticket to a new and better kick-ass wand. so he puts it up on the AH because, instead of giving it to his alt, he wants to finish the game and farm with his Wizard. The price is sky high and it won't sell, so he drops the price until he is able to sell and manages to buy a good wand. A nice little situation that is going to occur several hundred thousand times within the next couple of months.
A stable market with reasonable prices and better items is most likely going to generate more trades.
I may be wrong about all this, but you need to keep in mind that Blizzard's ultimate goal is to make people use the RMAH constantly. Its the way the game was setup to be and they will try and keep it that way until they figure it out or fail completely and just buff up drop rates to a ridiculous amount.
You can use the same situation to counter your argument.
A wizard finds an awesome pair of gloves.
That wizard realizes those pair of awesome gloves are a bigger upgrade then buying any weapon on the AH.
That wizard keeps those gloves and does not even touch/look at the AH. Therefor items and auction house usage will diminish. This will happen hundreds of thousands of times.

Recently I geared up using the video guide on the front page using 3 million gold to farm MP2-3.
So far it's working pretty well. I'm able to farm MP3 and only die a couple times... here's my profile...
http://us.battle.net...1261/hero/12464
How can I make my monk more badass? I'd like to get up in the 90k DPS range... currently I'm in the high 30's low 40's.... depending on a few pieces
I currently only have 1.5 million gold to spend.
Any ideas on what would I could do (other then getting a ton of money to buy better items.)
THanks.
Edit: I should mention that I just recently started running with the Enchantress as a follower.

Thanks.
I picked them all up before I learned them... and never remembered that I already picked it up. So I had them all in my stash.
How do I get rid of these things?
I can't drop it.
I can't sell it.
I can't learn it. (since I already know it)
I've tried everything and can't get rid of these things at all.
Thanks.
The image is showing up for me and a couple of my friends, also it's US servers.
Thanks
Yeah i'm definelty going to give it a shot, no doubt about that.
then looks like I'm not doing anything with monster power?
Perfect. /sigh.
