So kiting with just blizzard and hydra is not kiting... You need to be able to do some damage while kiting.... Hence the piercing orb. This will also go through all your enemies.
With Jailer, you have 1 teleport. If you get hit its instantly reset... so losing Mirror Images is a non issue. With force armor, you never be 1 shot with your amount of hp (up till act 4). Diamond skin with high HP is basically useless. It'll absorb 1 hit. That's an entire skill slot taken up by 1 hit every 16 seconds... not really worth it in my opinion.
As for wasps... those are total jokes as a mage... Clear the area and run in circles. You should never be getting hit by wasps.
My recommendation, drop Diamond skin, mirror image and Galvanizing ward. Pick up Glass Cannon, Shock Pulse - Piercing Orb and Force Weapon. Then learn how to kite effectively, you're a wizard!
Not only will this boost your dps tremendously thanks to Glass Cannon and Force Weapon, you also have another spammable spell that will do damage. You already have way more than enough hp and res to get through act 3, so at this point you need to concentrate on damage output.
You can do the entire fight and never get hit once... However, having around 42-45k hp will allow you to survive virtually everything(minus clone attacks).
If you can kill Belial, you can kill Diablo. There's no enrage. You just need to not screw up your kiting/dodging for the entire time.
That was my gear about a week and a half or so ago. You can't see the 17% movement speed I had in the photo. Since then I've swapped out my boots and rings, which dropped my hp down to 43k but raised my dps to 50k.
Ring of fire (giant fireball of doom) - when it lands, leaves a ring of fire on the ground - direct hit for approx 60k - ticks for ~20k/sec
Hell Spikes - Traps
Charge - a charge, always followed by a swipe
Swipe - basic attack - hits for approx 20k. If after a charge can hit for upwards of 60k. Sometimes inflicts 1 of 3 debuffs - A dot that ticks for a bunch, a debuff that reduces all healing to 0% effectiveness, and a debuff that increases damage taken but increases damage output.
Teleport - A teleport. This only occurs if you are really close to a wall. Healing wells do not count as walls. Hell spikes sometimes count as walls.
P2 - Realm of Terror
Diablo continues to cast Hell Spikes, Ring of Fire, Charge, Swipe and Teleport.
Shadow Clone - A clone of you. Most dangerous part of P2.
Clones have 3 skill sets -
These are in order of most dangerous to least dangerous:
Shock Pulse (1 shot) + Meteor (1 shot + leave firey stuff on the ground that will most likely kill you)
Arcane Orb (1 shot) + Venom Hydra (leaves puddles that are impossible to see)
Energy Twister (larger range than graphic, ticks for 15k/sec) + Teleport
P3 - Crystal Arch Redux
Same abilities as P1 except Diablo casts things approx 30% faster and 30% stronger.
Lightning breath - Cast in a 180 degree arc. Will most likely 1 shot you.
Fight breakdown -
P1-
Diablo always starts off with a charge. Always. Start off by planting a venom hydra down where you're standing and shoot him with Magic Missile 3-5 times depending on your attack speed. From there veer off left or right. Diablo will then shoot a Ring of Fire at you. At this point start running up around one of the 2 pillars. Drop a venom hydra in middle of the side. Diablo may do another charge or may just start casting Hell Spikes. Avoid the Hell Spikes and start shooting Diablo with Magic Missile.
As long as you stay on the opposite side of the pillar, Ground Stomp's fireballs will never hit you. They will be blocked by the hole in the floor. At this point the only things you have to worry about in P1 is keeping your venom hydra near Diablo, dodging Ring of Fire, staying out of Hell Spikes and not triggering teleport.
Phase 2 will be triggered around 55% hp.
If you do get trapped in Hell Spikes, spam your potion button and Mirror Images. Mirror Images clears debuffs. This goes for any of the other debuffs as well.
If you get a bad charge or a teleport, use your teleport.
When dodging Ring of Fire, never run directly away from Diablo, run at a 90 degree angle from Diablo.
P2-
This is by far the hardest part of the fight due to the Shadow Clones. They are annoying due to the varying combos of skills they can have..
This part of the phase always starts with a clone being spawned. At this point you will either get one shot and be super frustrated or move on and inevitably screw up something else till can ace the phase. As stated previously, the clone with Shock Pulse + Meteor is the most dangerous combo. This part took me the longest to master.
The biggest thing I learned is that the clone will always spawn in the direction you are facing.... This means as soon as it spawns, teleport 2-4x at around a 135 degree angle towards the edges of the room. Pop a hydra down and start killing your clone. Everything you clone throws at you will pretty much kill you so don't get hit!
As soon as your clone is dead, cast Mirror Images. Diablo will teleport on top of you and if you don't have Mirror Images cast, you will more than likely die. At this point your Teleport is most likely still down, but if its not, Teleport works as well.
From here on out, treat P2 exactly like P1. Kite around the rifts in the ground, don't trigger teleports and drop your hydra strategically. Diablo will recast shadow clones around 75% and 35%.
This phase ends when Shadow of Diablo reaches 0% hp.
P3.
Treat this phase exactly like P1. The only thing you will have to really worry about is the lightning breath. It has a very distinctive sound and with enough movement speed (17% or so) you can very easily out run it.
You win at around 5%. Switch to magic find gear before killing Diablo and congrats you beat the game! Enjoy Diablo's crappy loot! No seriously... 135 dps daggers are the best loot ever. And 400 dps 2 handers...
Depending on the IAS nerf, this may not be viable in a month.
I'm aware... but like I said, getting good resist/armor gear is expensive. You can gear out a wizard in vit/int gear with like 17% movement speed for under 1m and have them be able to breeze through Act I, II, and parts of III.
Armor and resists is a far more expensive route to go than stacking HP and using force armor. I really don't have a lot of experience with that so I can't really help you with that :/
With Jailer, you have 1 teleport. If you get hit its instantly reset... so losing Mirror Images is a non issue. With force armor, you never be 1 shot with your amount of hp (up till act 4). I use this build for the majority of things.

If I get bored and do act 1 I ditch most of my vit gear and go lolarchon in place of blizzard.
For Act 4 I use
http://us.battle.net...RQOS!Ydf!aZbZYZ mostly because it makes diablo easier.
Be aware, the IAS nerf may very well make this build/gear obsolete.

I killed Diablo with these stats -

The only thing you can't see is my movement speed, which is sitting at 17%.

Read those, they should clear up some things for you
That being said, you don't need resists/armor as a wizzy in inferno!
