I cant beleive how many people have complained that diablo 3 isnt dark enough.

Look from what i remember, you all wanted the same camera angle, which you got. You wanted next gen graphics, which you also got. And you wanted the same dark and gothic feel, without the cartoony feel, which in my opinion, you got. Yet its just not good enough is it?
Go and watch the gameplay video again. Look at the darkness, the lack of light, the statues and crumbling walls, the mist and fog and eerie lower depths of the dungeon. Its just like diablo 2 with a massive facelift. I for one couldnt be happier.
Go and watch the gameplay video again. Look at the fluffy and happy statue in the barbarian (woman) gameplay video. Look at the lack of light radius (as in diablo 2). Have a look at the greenish and non-diabloish feel in the dungeon.
Have a look at the rainbow and flat/ bleak environment outside the dungeon. It's like your character is walking on a giant hand-painted reliefless picture.

Crysis is a pc game having next-gen graphics. Diablo 3 is far from that. It's not really surprising taking into consideration that graphics has always been the poor child of blizzard.

Coming back to the topic, people saying they do not care about diablo 3 graphics do not have the right to call themselves true diablo fans.
If people care about graphics and art direction, it's because they want diablo 3 to renew their experience of diablo 1 & 2.
Even if diablo 2's graphics were not the best ever, at least it had a dark, gritty and sinister atmosphere and art style proper to the diablo franchise.
I don't care what your opinion on the graphics are in terms of artistic value, but stop comparing the game to the Warcraft franchise because it really does look similar at all.
I do agree that the textures need to be more defined, and more detailed, but I am 100% sure that it will happen as the game progress's over the next year or so here. Look what happen to Starcraft (and you cant be sure that the graphics were heading that way in the first place or if the community pushed them there).

This petition is created to represent those of us, whom I feel are great in number, who genuinely believe that Blizzard should continue to do what they are doing with Diablo 3's art direction and not bend to the wishes of those who would wish to see Diablo 3's beauty and vibrancy reduced to shades of gray and brown.

The modelling of characters (barb and witch doctor) is plain awful and is not even close to what we've seen in the art video.
And the choice of colours couldn't be any worse. I don't think people want purple-coloured caps for the witch doctor like he's some dancer in a Brazilian Carnival or pretty little rainbows in the game environment.
So your petition does not make any sense at all. I'm afraid it will fail miserably.
Let's voice our concerns and not accept whatever crap blizzard wants its fans to accept. Because the way it is currenly done, diablo 3 is miles behind renewing the gaming experience we had in diablo 2 (the best game ever).
Really? I mean did you watch the gameplay trailer? It definitely played like Diablo, and in my opinion look amazing. It looks light years beyond D2 and I thought the boss and mini-boss encounters were really well done. I don't know why everyone's just going bat-shit crazy about the graphics and artistic direction. I don't see a problem with it in the least. It's obviously not going to be WoW or SC2, its going to be Diablo3 and that was evident from the game play trailer so what is the point?

I would be really disappointed if they made D3 all dark and washed out. For now it looks more gothic and vibrant than many locations in D2. Also, you can't expect to have the entire game all dark and choking! There has to be a contrast somewhere for hell's sake!
