I crafted myself a pretty decent Piro Marella (42% reduction) so I've been using Shield Bash but I find it to be quite a bit weaker than Fist of the Heavens. On the plus side though it gives you a pretty nice charge to keep up with your allies without the need for Steed Charge which can be replaced with Heaven's Fury for some more damage or Judgment (resolved) which in a groups is probably superior especially with the CD resets.
Should I just ignore the shield's passive and stick with Fist of the Heavens anyway? The rest of my build is exactly the same except for the fact that I have a Sultan of the Blinding Sand so I am using the Holy Cause passive.
The question still remains whether it's worth it to sacrifice that much damage so you don't need a spirit generator. You also lose your Sweeping Wind damage which with % lightning is a lot as well as Unity/Combination Strike (which still gives 10% when you only use 1 generator).
You are giving up a lot of damage AND toughness for CDR and spirit regen just so you can spam LTK, his toughness and life are awefully low and barely even hold up in T3 with easy mobs (no stuns/charges), any higher probably won't be possible Personally I don't think it can beat a traditional build, it's also very restrictive gearing and skill wise.
Points for innovation, but none for functionality.
While this may be a functional build without spirit generator, I am pretty sure that traditional lightning builds will out damage it since you don't have to make sacrifices and sweeping wind does A LOT of damage. I also doubt this build is capable of spamming LTK on every mob without running out of spirit, even with all these spirit generating cooldowns and passives.
Not sure why people bring this up so often like it's a serious flaw of the spell/rune. Are you trying to say that with AT mobs never ever get close to you? What difficulty do you farm then? From my experience, when playing solo on T3 and higher, there are always some mobs sitting right on your face, no matter what spender you use.
It's not about mobs being close to you and/or hitting you. It's about having to move every time something is out of range or runs away from you. With AT I can just stand still and obliterate everything in my sight without ever moving, including runners.
Personally I play with the build on my profile and only have 4 APoC with 11 regen if I remember correctly. I don't use a generator and the only time I ever run out of AP is on bosses or rift guardians if my Archon is not up. Otherwise I empty my AP, use Archon and after that the fight is usually over before I run out of AP again.
I really dislike Disintigrate, it seems to cost way more AP and Entropy always has you in close range.
I've tried Wave of Force but it's so much weaker compared to the fire one. As for Energy Twister it seems a bit unreliable? I feel like I do more damage just spamming Electrocute with Lightning Blast.
I just feel like there aren't enough lightning spells that are worth it, most have lower damage than their counterparts.
I've picked up some +lightning skill damage gear but I can't really find a good build. I kind of dislike the Meteor because it's slow and the DoT damage takes too long to apply. Arcane Orb with Spark has low damage compared to the other runes.
There's also the question of passives and which rune to use on Electrocute, or maybe use Shock Pulse? Is there anyone who still uses lightning?
Wave of Force - Heatwave is by far the best resource spender of all fire skills.
It does 427% weapon dmg in a quite huge radius(about 20 y) for only 25 AP. Arcane orb does way less dmg for 30 AP and is harder to aim, and meteor does similar dmg but with a delay and a 40 AP cost, so for me it is really the only option.
Then i use Meteor - Molten impact as a backup. It is really good against elite packs. 1650% weapon dmg + 550% burn for 40 AP. That's equal to about 4 wave of force in terms of dmg. It has 15 sec cooldown but it is still worth it.
I have 1.6m dps agains elites, so my meteor crits for about 25-30 million if they stand close to me. I can almost one shot certain elite packs on T1. It takes Mammoth Hydra 12.35 seconds to reach the same dmg as one of these. I say hydra is a really good alternative to Molten impact though. If you want something that is easier to aim and more consistant. The rest is just pure dmg and defense.
Since you're always in melee range to use Wave of Force it only really works if you're already crushing the difficulty imo.
Since the profile does not show enchantments, if have lower dps there. I am 750k dps unbuffed and around 1008k buffed. Works really well playing on Torment 4
On energyarmor I use pinpoint mostly, could go mroe defensive if needed.
Regarding your build, I think the fire hydra is really weak. Arcane orb doees its job 100x better. I would also argue using unwavering will and the mirror passive, pretty weak imo.
Wouldn't it make more sense to use Meteor - Meteor Shower? I find that the damage over time on Scorch is kinda bad because enemies move out of it and it's a straight line rather than an AoE.
I said you either get boosted by your friends (getting strong items from them rather than working for it yourself) OR you buy them for real money either by purchasing gold or the items themselves. Regardless of which person you are I detest them both. I believe you must earn your own items.
OR
You can trade items of equal value to both parties.
Stop trying to paint everyone who likes trading as someone who is either a leech or a credit card warrior. Retarded generalizations are retarded.
Those people are in a HEAVY minority and it's not worth it to keep the old trade system just for them because there are too many leechers and gold farmers with that system.
If you want to trade with your buddies, PLAY WITH THEM. There is a 2 hour trade timer when grouped.
I get that.
It's still astoundingly ignorant to say that someone who wants to trade is a credit card warrior. You do realize how horribly inaccurate that statement is, right? I, personally, enjoy trading. I've never bought a single item ever. In any game. Ever. Don't try to paint me as someone who whips out the credit card every time the going gets tough just because I enjoy trading. It's the epitome of ignorance.

I eagerly jumped into the game to study the 55 odd pages of patch notes, last week.
unfortunately 2 handed legendary weapon damage ended up broken, and there is no ETA on its fix.
But don't worry; The minions in the Iskatu encounter were quickly hotfixed and no longer grant extra experience.
Whew! That should lower my blood pressure...
If D3 even had runewords I'd be impressed, hell I'd be impressed if D3 had them, released them broken again and then "fixed" them in approx 12+ months. 12 months would be an improvement; I'd only have to be stuck in the past 1 year ago instead of 2
Maybe then I could stop going to therapy !!
I understand that you think I'm hopelessly stuck in the past and just an angry sick pathetic little creature, and I want nothing but perfection... Oh well!
I'm not going to scoff at hundreds of thousands of pages of creative outpour on the forums of the internet just because its not from a "professional corporation". Especially when the ideas discussed are more intriguing than what's currently in game.
I'm also not going to assume anything created by a large gaming corporation is the pinnacle of role-playing game design.
both assumptions would be stupid to make....
The current item changes are based on RoS, not on people who are NOW maxed out in legacy legendaries. You will have to wait until RoS launches and you are level 70 before you can even give a single point of critique on items. Also experience exploits deserve to be nerfed.
