Monster levels are usually at the level of the creator of the game, so maybe it would be a better idea if you create the game at the same quest that he was in and invite him, this way he will catch up faster to you with levels and you will still get loot and so will he.
Why complicate something as simple as joining his friend's game?
Enjoy the campaign. That is the only real fun you are gonna have in this game. Then you will still have some fun getting your fist set and weapons. But ater that the game is just pure gringing to make the numbers slightly bigger.
I was looking for some new RPG to play with feel of progress once again. My friend told me about this game and I tried it out. So far I like it. It starts easy but quickly becomes challenging. I am curently lvl 20 and it really is fun to play. Got a little surprised I have not find thread about this game here yet.
some highlights:
3 classes - warrior, ranger and mage
up to 5 character slots
option to play offline
daily rewards
daily quests
draw to cast abilities
classic rpg itemization
option to craft gear
free to play (even gems for upgrades are obtained from playing the game alone)
Are you going to make a sprint for the stash tab or are you even going to skip that? yes
What did you play in the previous five patches (season or NS)? season
What's your reason to play season or non-season in 2.4.1, respectively? tired of starting over
What factors are most important for your decision (what streamers do, what your clan does, what your friends list does, where the perceived majority of players is, where leaderboards are easier to reach/more contested, or what this poll tells you ;-))? to have fun, no streamers, no clan, just me playing solo, with friends or randoms and having fun
To answer OP question. To minimalize botting the game needs to become fun again not just a mindless grinding. That's it. And that is in the hands of developers, not us.

Feel free to try and write below what you think.
We will get something we don't need, didn't ask for, don't want and will be left with dissapointment.
non season
Stay away from big invisible bugs I guess?
I mean others already gave you valid answer, what else to say.
I wanted this in the game ever since 1st season started.

Sooo you want Diablo 2?
I dont see anywhere stated that season stash tabs will roll over to non-season.
Nice video, covers many changes.
You continue to increase stats on one character during season like elite kills, hours played, bloodshards collected etc.
Yes it is really pointless.
I see no leak there, just a speculation.
speculation =/= leak
Also the infamous place with elite packs spawning at the entrance and no checkpoint .
or keep it and reroll
