Congratulations on the post! Very informative... I can't wait till I can play Diablo 3 as well. Considering your D2 past, would you consider the WD as a type of Necromancer?
As amusing as that sounds, what is really the point of doing that? When the next comes out, you'll get wiped for sure =)
Not saying that you shouldn't play, but I wouldn't start farming just yet.
They removed them from the game, the only ones that are liek this are quest items that are needed. Everything else is droppable/tradeable now.
I really do hope so. Especially since I believe that they'll harvest lots of money from the auctions. Wouldn't make sense to reduce the amount of auctions they have profit from.
Now that we have 1 more level of difficulty, besides that 3 that we had on Diablo 3, I suppose the game is gonna last a lot longer. Especially if we start seeing those immune kind of monsters. Gotta love a physical immune, sparking, extra fast zombie, when you are a barbarian.
As mentioned by the devs, there are some very few items that WILL be soulbound. Most of them aren't, but on an official post, they mentioned that some few quest items are, and some others might be as well.
Has anyone found anything on the beta regarding that? Or maybe some official post that mentions these rare soulbound items?
This is the wizard that I intend to play with, with focus on mana regen, and mass damage spells. The idea here is clean up with high DPS, while someone else tanks. Most of this damage will come through Meteor spamming and Disintegration. The rest of the skills are for defense, when soloing, and mana regen.
So old Diablo 2 player will remember that the Wizard was the best class to explore new maps because she was able to teleport spam and get anywhere very quickly. But then again you could drink potions like a drain, and there was no CD.
I wonder if now anyone sees the Wizard in D3 is a viable map explorer, and if not, is there a better well suited class for that? What do you guys think?
I really hated how PVP was implemented in Diablo 2. There was NO fun at all when you joined a server and there was an Amazon with a Zephyr bow shooting seeking arrows at the town entrance. People would clutter there and try to charge towards her just to find themselves dead a few meters forward.
I for one do not miss any of that from Diablo 2, including hostility.
If you do, you must be one overpowered troll that like doing that in D2 =)
Initially we will have some skills that will be OP, but I don't think that anything will be left like that. Surely a patch will balance things out as players find things like that. Too bad the beta limits the player level and skills, because if it didn't, some of that balancing would already have been done.
That was really weird. I thougth all target locking was out of the game?
Target locking as in WoW were you have kind of a gui/reticle is out of the game, but not the locking that you had on Diablo 2 for example.
I sure hope that it will work for both buttons (primary/secondary).
I for one want to convert my wife to play Diablo 3 with me. I wonder how interesting she'll find the game, considering she prefers FPS games. She DID play more Torchlight 1 then me though, LOL. But she never played Diablo 2, and she didn't like it much when she saw me playing.
Any tips to make the experience more interesting?
I didn't like the runewords at all. They weren't easy to find out, without using some kind of internet guide. Who would like to expend all those runes trying to discover combinations. If runes were inter exchangeable in the slots, I would like them a little more. FF7 style.
As it has been said before, if pvp is anywhere near D2, I don't think the healer class will do any difference. He'll be dead before there's anything that requires healing. But considering much of the balance knowledge will come from WoW, I think it'll be pretty much like WoW.

"Stay a while, and listen...."
The only reason I put up with that **** was because at low levels I had to spare money and identify items on Cain.
Now that identify is kaput, I can finally tell Cain to ** **** *******.
Just identify the ******* items and shut up !
