I want to play my DH however I do not like the play style of 'drop sentries...type /dance...rinse repeat' that it seems DH are currently reduced to for end game content (35+ GR's in both solo and team).
I will be the first to admit I'm not 100% in love witht he DH playstyle in general however I want to play mine to get up to higher GRs as my WD is unable to due to being pet based and pets just go pop at 33+ I'm finding even with enforcer gem level 25 and still no JH set items have dropped.
Any advice for non M6 based viable non-support DH builds would be great or are we literally shoehorned into NEEDING this set to be viable higher up there?
Doesn't work on pets, but if you do use it on a direct damage class it can make you a load of gold.
Personally I used it on my monk doing delayed GR's (1,2,3,4.....) and when I check my gold it's sitting at around 100 mill+ more gold than I started. Simply replace it with your main DPS gem when the difficulty gets higher. Also has the advantage of raining legendaries and set items
Well I just got a nice Leorics crown (Dex/life% 99% gem bonus/socket/monk skill).
Now for my monk i feel it's not that great going by the gearing I want to do, but I have a DH that may be able to use it. So is there any good DH builds that could benefit from this helm by rolling the skill to crit? I have no idea with DH but always wanted to gear my one that's been sitting at 70 since RoS launched.
So with the servers being as buggy as they are currently due to DDOS attacks, I thought to make this thread where people can give input on places they like to 'farm' or hunt for goblins for the Greed Realm.
Now I found out that the legacy Puzzle Ring (chance to spawn goblin when being hit) can summon goblins in the trial rift if used on a follower (not tested on myself as it's a level 60 crap stat ring). The kill will drop loot (not tested in GR's as game died shortly after) and have a chance to open a portal (mine did in this case, T5 if that matters at all for portal spawn chance).
Anyone else have any locations/tactics for them?
Also heard they cannot open portals in rifts/GR's. It makes sense but anyone able to confirm/deny?
Of course it's a downgrade, nothing outside of possibly a 3-4k 1 handed weapon would give the same DPS boost as a good harringtons and a large amount of clickables. Some are saying the new season belt is going to be BiS in GR's but I highly doubt it. Witching Hour is goign to be BiS for lower tier GRs but when you start getting much higher you will need survivability as jailer one shots you otherwise amongst other unavoidable damage like the thunder initial spawn (not orbital) and a few monster abilities not to mention votex packs with ground AoE that your not using the correct immunity ammy for.
As for build, most run with fetish sycophants using rain of toads to generate them, which RoT you pick depends on your weapon choice and not using FA. However in GR's people are using both and dropping garg due to how it's taken a massive nerfing down from (for me personally) 270 mill crits on elites with BBV up on live down to 50-75 million crits on elites with BBV, same gear, same spec same buffs, no leg gems. The change has made garg less of a 'I WIN' button on elites, he still hits pretty hard, but not as much on live and thus becomes an optional skill rather than mandatory. What they replace the garg with varies from person to person so I would advise doing a PTR copy yourself and test out what works best for you.
You could look into dropping Grasp for toads and then swapping over gruesome feast for Fetish Sycophants. You would have to swap out your pants for something else, maybe a cains + boots combo for more attack speed considering you would be having 15 more little beasties to use it.
You could replace garg with Soul Harvest + Vengeful Spirit (physical) unless it's been changed on PTR for a damage boost and int boost, doing so using spirit walk to limit danger to yourself at higher difficulties in GRs. I've not tested this but it would work decently with your +phys%.
Just some thoughts, Not tested on PTR and not taking into account leg gems as they are in flux currently thus take what I have written with a grain of salt and test for yourself on the PTR with your gear.
Also I hate you for having the SMK...however I feel sorry for you because it rolled with a native socket...I'm sorry man
I have finally gotten around to getting onto my DH which I have not played since mid vanilla release. I'm currently at 64 or so and will be 70 very soon.
now I know the M6 set is pretty much manditory for T6, however hitting level 70 in yellows will make farming a little slower than other people obviously. Now my questions are thus: What skills should I be running for an undergeared DH starting out in T1-3? What gear would be best to get/craft assuming access to all crafting recipes (legendary and sets)? I have Nats 1h xbow currently from when I was on my Crusader but that's pretty much it for gear thus far.
Any pointers or directions to links/youtube guides would be great
Lyndon always gives the best gifts, but in this case Harrington's Belt doesn't help much. :/
For dmg, Witching hour was already suggested, but for a helpful crowd control belt I've always liked 'Cord of the Sherma' for the blind/slow that procs pretty regularly.
I used that belt when I was badly geared in T2 and T4. It helped a bunch especialyl on those that run away a lot like ghosts and the fallen. I always recommend it for newer gearing players for that reason, the CC is amazing and seems to work on almost anything from memory
I will preface this saying that I do not have the PTR currently due to download limits (stupid backward country I live in) so I cannot test out myself but I happened to come up with an idea that I know others have came up with and tested.
With there being no chests in GR's it makes Harringtons belt kind of useless for GR's (still viable for normal rifts obviously). Now this got me thinking and doing some quick and dirty digging through other unique belts and set belts for the Firelight build that does not use RoRG. I ended up finding a belt called Razor Strop. It can have up to 5 yard health glove pick up (great when paired with say Reapers Wraps) as well as whenever you pick up a health globe you explode for 300-400% weapon damage as fire. Now this would be buffed by our normal fire damage % stacking I would assume (not tested it yet, just found one in my stash so will test in the morning).
Would this be a viable option for a replacement for the Harringtons or is there another belt out there or combo with set bits that I may be missing that could be a good alternative? Or is there a new legendary belt on the PTR that is a viable option that I have not seen reported?
Hope this helps someone or gets greater minds than mine in theorycrafting ticking over for potential other belts now that Harringtons has been knocked off it's pedestal.
Just been munching through T4 and dabbling in T5 with my crusader and looking for some pointers for improving my build and gear. It's the normal Firelight build with some minor changes (not enough damage for T5/not enough CDR so need a wrath generator for example).
I know my life% is crazy but that's just how it is. I'm rolling the leorics for CDR right now and waiting for a unity for my other ring and a better BK. I have a 20% fire / 30% elites SoJ in the stash but it's INT so will not be able to get CDR on it as a roll. Also still not found a decent 1 hander and a 20% maximus is serving me well as well as the fun you can have with steed charge + fire chain killing white packs in lower difficulties for bounty farming.
Any advice on how to optimize my gear would be greatly appreciated. I am going to try and roll a good Piro with CDR/all res/crit or combo of 1 of them. I need more CDR I know this, with using a 2 hander.
Would I be better off using my 8% CDR, socket (rolled from vit) mortal drama and getting the fire runed bombardment (always crit) in the build somehow? It would go a long way to removing my wrath issue and could replace my wrath generator.
if it's not on either of those lists it is fair game to gamble, if it is on those lists then it will never drop via gambling. Note I have not looked at the lists so you will have to peek yourself.
I've been trying to gamble those damned things for a week. 2k bloodstones worth of gambling and I've gotten 3 pairs of blackthorns, several pairs of other assorted boots, but not them
Going to test this out on my alt WD sometime during the week when I get bored of the monk. Just found a nice legendary ceremonial knife so looking forward to doing some testing.
ive been insta-salvaging gear for about 5 days. I'm at teh point wit my crusader that only near perfect rare rolls (fixed with enchants) or a select few legendary items can be improvements. Due to this I have actually found myself logging in less and less, however it could be slight burn out being a contributing factor too.
I just find it annoying that after say 6 hours of play, all I have achieved is a larger gem and enchanting mat collection and maybe another few paragon levels.
I farm souls easy enough just doing rifts. Seems about half the tiem the guardian drops one and then there are the junk legendary items that drop that get junked. Granted it's not a very 'casual friendly' or low play time player friendly, however it seems to work. You just need to put in a little more effort to get that bigger upgrade over the rares that drop like candy or atleast the bigger potential upgrade.
