You get training from the Citadel which is a Brotherhood base. In the meantime though, I do recommend the recon armor. Especially if you're into stealth tactics.
im using stealth a lot more, but its not so helpful against animals, although sticking live grenades in ppls pants is fun + funny. the improved accuracy perks are amazing, now i dont miss so much with VATS
im struggling to get caps too now. and no one gives me a good deal on selling my stuff. armour worth 400+? ill take it for 108 sure! zzz

ehe, ya ive been past that citidel with the brotherhood douches are standing in front. And the bastards wont let me in an train for power armor! ehe, ah well. im doing fine with whatever stuff i find anyways.
i have 10k something caps? i dont buy much since i mostly just use the stuff i find. i did buy that heart bed for my megaton house tho. If you have repair skill up abit you can repair all your weapons & armor you find before selling them. Since you get more money for better condition stuff. Oh, and save all the pre-war books, can sell them for 100caps each later on at the library. Do we even really need money in this game? i dont buy much of anything.
I do need more lockpicks tho, but i never see any for sale.
the whole world is a shithole? everywhere ive been so far is all fucked up. Thought id probably find some nice places with green grass an clean beds to sleep in.
Just got past the part were you find the guys dad, think i may try some of the dlc stuff now.

While some weapon schematics can be found, you can also just buy them. They're a good use of money as they are a bit expensive. Buy yourself the dartgun schematics. It's seriously one of the most fun weapons in the game. At least until you become all overpowered then no weapon is fun anymore.
I mostly buy ammo and repairs. And it can get expensive since my repair isn't so good atm and it seems like u have to have a couple spare parts too. Tonight, I take on the queen ant.

btw i got the 'ripper' - coolest melee wep ever. i got the parts to the flamesword too, so gonna make it as soon as these ants die. but ya, ripper = cool.

Ripper is indeed fun cause you can just hold down the trigger and dance around your enemy. Doesn't do a great deal of damage per second but I still think it's really fun to use. There are probably better melee weapons than the shishkebab, but I like it a lot because it has good damage in ratio to its weight and it's a pretty rugged weapon too. Doesn't degrade too fast.
Like I was saying, most custom made weapons are great when your character isn't too high a level. But once you start finding energy weapons everywhere there is less incentive to use the custom weapons. So it's worth just making a quest out of finding schematics for weapons and then enjoying them as long as you can. So you got your shishkebab soon, then I highly recommend the dart gun. It's so fun for going into a dark place. It's technically a silenced weapon and if your sneak is good you can just hide in the dark and shoot people over and over till they die of the poison darts.
There is also the railway rifle which is far from the most powerful custom weapon, but is a higly entertaining one. It shoots railway spikes and you can even pin objects and enemies to the with them. So I hope you're saving all the railway spikes you find as well as the darts. Cause that's ammo, dude!
ehe, i sorta thought railway spikes were gonna be used for custom weapon ammo. but i sold all mine sadly. i usally just sell everything i find cept for the skills books, ammo, stimpacks, then i'd repair all the weapons/armor that i have multiples of an sell those too. oh ya, and i fixed the leaky pipes for that old guy in megaton so he buys all the scrape metal i find also.
Still havent run into the shemantics for dartgun yet but im saving my darts.
Already made the shiskabob, bottlecapmine and i forget what that other one was.
Shiskabobs a coo weapon, like a firesword an sets the enemies on fire. But i never use it anymore tho, just put it away in my megaton house. I mainly use the combat shotgun/chinese assalt rifle, magnum & i always have sniper rifle on my Down hotkey for checking stuff out far distance wise. Im workin on raising my energy weapons skill up now, so im saving all the energy weapons and ammo i find for later. But right now combatshotgun/chinese assultrifle is strong enough to take down everything so far. Of course i repaired them to 100% for more damage.
yep, last night i finally got the brotherhood to teach me to wear powerarmor. Apples, if your looking to wear powerarmor. You gotta save your dad from traqulity lane (pretty easy). Then help him get his new place up and running then soon after that i wont spoil it. Some stuff happens an soon you make your way to brotherhood citadel were they let you in there an you can train for powerarmor.
somtimes its too hot in the summer time for boozin. lotsa fellors b.b.q.in out there an sippin a coal bottle a booze.
the whole world is a shithole? everywhere ive been so far is all fucked up. Thought id probably find some nice places with green grass an clean beds to sleep in.
It's the world after the apocalypse ... yeah, it's a shithole and no, AFAIK, you won't find green pastures and clean beds.
ehe, hey man. while playing today i couldnt stop thinking about shit n pissholes ehe.
Everytime im moseyin along an i enter a new town/village and i think to myself. This place certainly is a shithole. Maybe even more of a shithole then the last shithole? ehe.
Thats when i had the great idea of Fallout4, they should rename it to Shithole4 instead?
How bout Fallout New Vegas? has anyone played it? and how is it compared to fallout3?
I like this game but sometimes i get burnt out an need to take a break from it.
Think i'll take a break an continue sometime next week. I just cleared out the operation anchorage part an killed the chinese boss an got his crappy sword. Did get some decent power armor from the outcasts afterwards tho.
Been starting a new F3 game on my new machine. I thought this time around I'd try it with several mods. I like the one that makes the sky a nice blue color. The faces also are more customized on all the NPC's so everyone doesn't look like a mass produced doll face. There are also more weapons and ammo, monsters from the original Fallout games, and how cool is that I can walk around town completely naked (well except for my pipboy).
Haven't been able to get the alternate weather one to work yet though. But it's cool cause it can snow and also there is rain which affects your rad count.
are you going to be trying a different build? maybe they should have some GIANT hammers or something with the new weapon mods. I was going to make an all melee guy at first but i thought he'd probably suck to bad. Too bad i have the xbox360 version myself, cant try mods.
but i usally always rather play on the consoles and kicking back on the couch rather then sitting up at my computer like a dork.
you know, last night i watched a movie called "The Road". and it reminded me alot of fallout3
minus all the monsters an coo weapons/armor. its the story of these 2 sad c*cksuckers as they travel the wastelands in search of food an shelter. i think they should of been looking for soap an a shower first since they had dirt all over there faces. every character on this has dirt all over there face an clothes. they gotta wash they ass. <_<
iam unsure how the world came to be like that on that movie since i wasnt really paying much attention to details. oh right, now i remember. at the beginning that guy is mumblin in a real low voice that i couldnt really make out what he was saying. but i got the jist of it anyways. it was probably from a war like in fallout.

My monitor is right here on my desk next to my bed. It's big enough I can just lie on the bed while I play.
The mods are fun when you get them to work is the thing. The game keeps crashing on me like crazy so I might just reinstall the whole thing. Just learning to run the mods and make sure none conflict is a headache within itself. However I'm looking into known issues with the game and Windows 7 so hopefully I can get it working smoothly.

I hate to be one of those people who says shit like, "You should read the book first." But here I'm definitely saying it. The Road is an amazing book. I loved every word of it. The movie, while an admirable attempt, simply could not capture the mystique and horror of that book.
Also in the story, you're never really told why the world is the way it is. Because it doesn't matter. Some kind of calamity took place and the survivors aren't really sure what happened. That's also what makes the book intriguing I think. But the drive of the story is the drama behind the characters, not what happened to the world.
wasnt it from some drought? the road was a pretty grim movie, but man, that kid was fcking annoying.
Some environmental disaster...
Yeah the kid was pretty annoying but what can you do? It's hard to cast a kid in a serious movie like that. I think he did well as far as child actors go. But seriously folks, read that book.
actually i do have a copy of The Road, but never got around to reading it.
since i fell off the ol' readin wagon for awhile now. its just that it takes up too much time, and with gaming that takes up loads of time also. maybe sometime in the winter i'll check it out. i have stacks of books there unread from people telling me stuff like "this books a must read" an such. last books i bought was the song of ice and fire stuff.
ya, usally the books better then the movie. cept for maybe The Shining by stephen king, but i did like the book about as much.
Is there a mod that lets you play as a super mutant? I think they'd make good melee characters. sorta like barbarians, of course they gotta have perks like duel weild, whirlwind and whats the one from world of warcraft were you can duel weild 2, 2handed weapons.
titan grip or something. If i ever play thro f3 again i'd make a sledgehammer guy and whos an evil doer. Since im all goody 2 shoes on the guy im playing now. gotta blow up megaton an such. that sledgehammer barb sounds like that song hammer smashed face.
check out this nice album cover art work there.
also, it would be great if you could casterate people also.
got to rivet, its huge. im probably gonna spend like 4 hours just exploring this ship, and finding a home for that kid in greyditch.
i think i messed up my stats/skills, i just added to random things and i dont think im killing efficiently enough. in fact, im running away from combat more than i should...
