In your dream do you hope to be a game designer ? Because you have the greatest default that a game designer cannot have, a closed mind.
Imagine that, in a companie, a producer who has a bad idea and he's absolutly want it in the game, even if everyone said that is a bad idea with explaination and arguments. (It's really happen in certain companies (where you depend on client satisfaction(who's paying who's decide))). It's frustating to made a game when you know it will going to be bad. In that optic, we're lucky that blizzard doesn't work like that. Each employee bring them ideas, the game designers must be very open to correctly analysed each ideas.
All that to finally say, I don't think anyone like and having fun to brainstorm with you.
I would personally not mind seeing a skill tree like in Diablo 2, except continue past level 30.
Or a skill path or something. Like if you pick the Barbarian, at the start you decide if you want to be sword/shield, or 2 handed, or dual-wield, etc. Then later on down the path it splits and you choose a mastery, sword, axe, mace, spear, etc. Then later down that path it splits into Passive, Aggressive, Offensive, Defensive, etc.
Or maybe at the beginning when you pick your character, you have to choose like 5 out of so many possible attributes your character could have, and your skill trees or hex's or whatever are made from that.
I'd be happy as long as there are skills past level 30.:)
Make it halfway at 50, assuming 99 will be the cap in D3.
Yea, i like the idea of the skills going into higher levels. While it would suck on normal to not get every skill, it would make me want to play through nightmare and hell that much more.

Glad you guys agree. I don't like how i'd always get up to level 30 in normal or early nightmare, and then have to use the same skills for the rest of the game up to level 85 or 90. It's even worse if you're playing a character like a meteor sorc (level 24) or a zeal paladin (level 12), or heaven forbid a multishot amazon (level 6) lol.
I understand some of these builds are desirable and people would still make them, but as you guys above said, it'd be nice to still be working towards new skills through nightmare or maybe even hell. (if they'll have those modes in d3)
I not agree to have items who gives unique skills... but I heard that blizzard will make few high level skills (to continue customization in nightmare and hell).
I agree with you. I do not think that it is going to be that drastic of a change. They commented that the new system is a path/pool system. Taking from this, all that means now is that you take a path to a grouping of skills. plug in some points into that pool and then take the path to the next pool of skills. Maybe these pools will be a mixture of different "trees" of skills.
For example:
pool 1 - summon zombie dog, locust swarm, plague of toads, soul harvest.
after putting five points into this pool you continue down the path to the next pool.
pool 2 - firebats, meditate, zombie charger, blood rites.
so on and so on.
My real question for the new system is will you be able to go back to previous pools or are you forced to advanced.

Good question, I don't remember if I see a maximum skill level higher than 5 ?
If you're forced to advanced I think it will ruin the customization...
decrease the number of possibilities...
