"Indeed. Only Blizzard can confirm whether or not there is a game announcement. I am not sure why people is speculating the countdown is toward a game announcement."
"...Something will be announced, but not the game. If there were a game to be announced at WWI, then the May 1 announcement would fit there somewhat, so to speak."

... was that necessary?:(
i wanted a novel...
On my New York Comic Con post I mentioned Knaak will write a new Diablo novel. And back in October he mentioned new writers doing new Diablo novels -- which are unannounced at this point.

I dunno, but why is there a HEARTBEAT in the background of blizzplanet then?
Maybe the announcement will breath some life to some of fans' hopes? hmm.

Kehjan will be shaken in 10 days
10 more days remaining what shall happen on may 1st?
what do all these hints from the sin war trilogy mean?
what is Kehjan?
Kehjan City was mentioned in Diablo: The Sin War trilogy, The Veiled Prophet. It is the city where the Mage Clans and Mage nobles lived. The book says Inarius Temple was north of Kehjan City, so I would say it was originally somewhere near the Mephisto Temple. Kehjistan is the whole region.
Last May we would digg anything that mentioned Diablo or Starcraft.

Another thing any ideas what is "World Of Sanctuary" the link on blizzplanet.com, and why it redirects to these forums here?
Will the diablo-mmo be called World of Sanctuary or it is something else?
I redirected the World of Sanctuary image-link to these forums merely a few days ago. Less than a week if I remember accurately. Before that, the image was still there but linking to a forum hosted at blizzplanet -- which is now officially dead. Since Umaro brought me to diablo3.com and considers blizzplanet a sister site, I linked to this forum instead.
Concerning the words "World of Sanctuary", this is the name at the page next to the Sanctuary map in the Diablo II Game Manual (page 113).
Additionally, and the very reason I started coining the name ... Richard A. Knaak wrote a dedication on the first pages of Diablo: The Sin War trilogy, book two: Scales of the Serpent. It says as quoted:
"For all the loyal and very patient fans of the world of Sanctuary."
The world in which Diablo is set is called Sanctuary, like the world Warcraft is set in is called Azeroth.
World of Diablo or World of Sanctuary is what people have been saying a Diablo MMO would be called, simply because that is how Blizzard's other MMO is titled, World Of Warcraft.

Yeah but, Elfen, I just recently realised that 'Warcraft' is actually the equivalent of 'Diablo', not 'Sanctuary'. They didn't call it 'World of Azeroth'.
Edit: Here's a map of the part of Sanctuary where The Sin War takes place: (made by Solomir - sorry, I know its hard to read. I'm in the process of making a new one for him and us all)
No they did not, bust since I highly doubt Blizzard would use such a idiotic naming system for future games (World of...), this logic is inherently flawed in either case.
It will conjure up to many "oh it's just a clone of Wow" and people may in fact stay away in droves. It name would definitely alude to the cloning factor.

yeah, thats true. I don't want it to be called 'World of Diablo' at all. Pretty sure they made it 'World of Warcraft' just so they could abbreviate it to 'WoW'. Pssh, Blizzard and their tricks.
Diablo in the title yes, so we know which franchise it is. World of Warcraft is part of the Warcraft series. But I think World of, or maybe its world of X craft, really only applies to Warcraft and Starcraft, their titles were fairly generic, Diablo is referring directly to someone. Lots of Cenimatic in the WC series often said welcome to the world of Warcraft, there was eve none in WC1 that did that.

Secondary titles for blizzard games, tend to refer to a place, time, person, object, or event. Also all sequels have secondary titles. And if you include Hellfire, all expansions do too. Although Hellfire is technically Sierra's game.
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness
Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
Starcraft: Broodwar
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade
World of Warcraft: Wrath of The Lich King
Diablo: Hellfire

Gamingsteve.com and it's article on "Beezelbub 3" (like we couldn't figure out what they were covering up) can hardly be taken as absolute fact, and it only speaks of one version that failed, and it wasn't cancelled, simply reworked.

That's it, you've given the game away!
Blizzard are going to announce renaming the Diablo franchise DEMONCRAFT. It's so obvious now...
That map brings much dread to me, sure it's been around, but look at it. To me it totally screams MMO. Just look at all the places to toggle run/walk to!
Oh GOD OH GOD OH GOD, it's a MMO. Dear god it's a MMO! What have they done, they've taken Diablo's virginity, they're just going to whore him out, everyone's going to get a piece.
I never finished that cool game. I liked it more than D2.

I still believe the site will change, Blizzard will take it and the only page that comes up when you type diablo3.com will have new concept art of Deckard Cain saying "Stay awhile and listen!"
Though i highly doubt these forums will be closed.

I wouldn't mind World of Sanctuary, or simply 'Sanctuary'. I really can't think of any good title with the word 'Diablo' in it.

but don't worry, they didn't have MMO in mind when they created that map.
It had a map at the start of the game. *sigh*
