I was looking around on cghub (http://cghub.com/) and I was fascinated by how people could make this on a computer, then I thought some of you might know of some videos of people doing this, I've looked and found a few, but nothing that really suited for what I was hoping to find, if you want post a link of a video of some one making this art below!

All throughout he talks about the programs and equipment.
For the most part it's pretty standard.
He always uses photoshop. Sometimes cs5. Sometimes cs3 even.
When he works in house he uses a computer with a shitonkton of ram. When on his laptop I think he's limited to like 4 gigs?
He uses a cintiq touchscreen. Also, either at work or home he uses multiple monitors.
That pretty much covers it.
He's worked on big name stuff like Star Wars and Avatar. That's the cream of the crop in terms of concept art.
The stuff you're seeing is the pipeline stuff that most people will never see. I'm 100% sure Feng can work the high render work, but his philosophy is to leave a touch of himself in the work. Also, as it's pipeline stuff, it's done with efficiency understanding and speed in mind.

Yeah its pretty sweet, thanks for showing this to me.
Do you know why he works in such high resolutions?
It's just the resolution to use at a professional level. Whether it be for printing or just for digital use, you want to have a fairly high resolution for detail and cleanness.
He doesn't start out at 10000 pixels. He would probably start out around 2000. Lay the foundation. Up the resolution. Add detail. Repeat.

Wow. If you look at some of the videos on that guys youtube channel it says that most of them only take between 45-60 minutes. Thats so amazing. I would have thought at least several hours.
Yeah if you are going to get into doing art ( I mean beyond photo post production) then you need a good tablet. The good ones start around $2000 but for someone who sketches it's a must.
You don't need a 2000 dollar tablet to make it in the industry. You might need one in house at a company once you get hired. But a good ol Intuous 3 or 4 will do anyone just fine. It's the person using the tool doing the work after all.

Does he have a video where he goes over all of the equipment hes using?
