Do you have a realistic time frame?
Like when your going to start.
But please, post early screenshots or concept art?
Will it be safe to say we would be expecting concepts soon?
I have a lot of information in the other thread. "My Artwork from High School". It has some very early conept art in it. Some things you see there will remain the same.
But the time frame is from winter (November-December) in 1994-2015 in the summer (June-...). I chose these dates because it gives a lot of varied environments, items, weapons, vehicles, and people.
Isabel Kain is young woman that is the target for assassination by Phoenix Offices. You are Michael Xavier Hyde, the hitman, and Isabel is his last contract. Information that was supposed to be given to you was hidden from view and they send you blindly on a mission with just an address and a picture.
Trying to keep her kind of a secret, so you are surprised to see who and what she really is. I need to go back to work and get my concepts off my other computer and put them up. And I would gladly make more characters and settings but my other Tablet went tits up and I'm all too busy when I get to work. I'm starting 3D renders in couple months, and Xavier's official website/forum will be up, too.:)

"You cannot fight fire with fire, but you can make one hell of a glow." - Michael Xavier Hyde (December 1994)
Impossible, that is fucking fantastic!
Man i want this game, btw are those things going to be scripted because it sound to good to be true real-time?
btw the other ideas are sweet (like cammode or suicidal tendencies :D) could maybe create some controversy but please don't leave em out, they just sound too fun.
But will it all be possible? I mean have you experimented already with some ideas to see if they are implementible?
Of course this will all be possible, it will just take time and money to make it right. And yes, all of this will be in real time, and only a few things will be scripted (i.e. highway scenes, the world).

But lots of kids get their hands on M rated games.
Look at the Grand Theft Auto series.
It was frowned upon by many parents, but none the less almost every kid with a PS2 owned some of their games.
Even with its M rating and huge lable that went with it.
Also this game sounds very demanding for PC users.
Not everyone has suped up PCs.
So heres my question for you to answer with Acid's.
Are you trying to just make a great game in your own way, or will you sacrifice some of it all to fit in well with sales.
And also, is this game going to make sure players with average PCs will be able to play it like many games try to do,
or will it go full blown out with its potential.
Q: With Xavier, will you be targeting the largest amount of fans possible, or will you focus on just those that are very ambitious of the game? The game sounds like it would be rated Mature, so that kind of leaves the lower teenagers out of the picture.
A: I do not intend on targeting a lot of fans of different genres or games, instead, I intend to create many of my own by letting people know and turning people on to Xavier. I want people to realize how much potential this game has. The industry has really declined in originality, the few that are unique make for really good sales.
M Rated games attract a lot of teens and pre-teens. Since the ESRB rating is not strictly enforced, its use is mainly for parents who are looking the best game for their children. Quite frankly, most parents don't care and usually supply their spawns with 17+ Mature games, even when they are well below the age. These games, in my opinion, drive sales because of peoples curiosity of how violent or brutal something could be. Manhunt is and was a good example.

A: I have a passion. That passion belongs to video games. To me, it's not a hobby or a job. So to make a game that will only sell well is completely pointless to me. Far too many developers are in it for the sake of money, I, however, am not in it for the money. I would rather have recognition and have people play my creation more than anything. That being said, Xavier will be made how it is in my books, how it is in my head, and how I think it should be.
A: Just like many PC games out today, Xavier will have the options to modify the video settings the way you would like it to be. Settings from very low to very high will be available. I do recommend that you buy a new PC and an Xbox 360 controller in the next few years, so you can play Xavier to its fullest potential.

Q: Will there be any system to say things to people? Because it wouldn't be that realistic without it. But if you bring up a drop-down menu for it, then that's not a realistic thing either. Looks like you are in a predicament here...
Q: What will Xavier be flying to New York City for?
Q: Sorry if this has been posted anywhere, but do you plan for an online or Co-op mode?
Q: Will there be an option menu for Sound/Music/Controls/Vibration etc etc. still?
Q: You want it to be on PC? Are there going to be updates for it ever?
A: Most of things that Michael will say will be scripted, the player will not have any input. But the only time you will choose what he would say would be when there is a Story Branch. You will know this because you will pull back from the first person view, enter his mind, and choose a piece of dialogue in the dynamic menu system. There are also quick positive and negative responses.
A:No comment.
A:In previous postings on this thread, you will find my outlook on multiplay. There is honestly too much for me to repost.
A:Yes, this can all be accessed through Michael's mind. Just a press of the Start or Back buttons will get you there. His mind is full of things; memories, souvenirs, memorable items, important people, etc. Options are located on his first computer from the 80's, his to do list (objectives) can be found pinned on the fleshy surface of the wall, and finally a Map can be found on the Atlas located on the hood of the half engulfed car, jutting from the wall.
A:Of course there will be updates. Hopefully, the mod community will supply some new cities, towns, and landscapes for the world. If there is a problem with the game itself, we will be fixing it as soon as we can.
As realistic as Xavier will be, this doesn't mean that it won't have that video game feel to it. Games are said to be an escape from reality. So, having a game that will have that realistic feel to it, but still have that Fantasy touch will be something different. For example, Michael's mind won't be just a menu system, it's an out-of-this world experience. When you press Start, you will be sucked out of reality into Michael's own oblivion. It's not a dark, text heavy place. Instead, it's an organic room filled with things you can interact with. You have control. You are Michael. And you may feel as if you have taken over his life, his destiny, and his world. Remember Being John Malkovich? Yeah, kind of like that. Xavier is like another world, a world where you can do wild and crazy things, but still make you feel as if you were in your own reality.

"You cannot fight fire with fire, but you can make one hell of a glow." - Michael Xavier Hyde (December 1994)
For the first time in 2 months, I sat down with a pencil in paper. I thought long and hard on whether I should create a new character, or put detail on a previous character. So I knew it was best to draw Isabel Kain, and after an hour and a half, I finished her. I haven't the time to scan her at the moment (Reason: Have to get up in 5 hours), but when I get to it tomorrow, I will have it up in no time.
But until then, enjoy this:
This came to me in a dream and has nothing to do with Xavier.

"You cannot fight fire with fire, but you can make one hell of a glow." - Michael Xavier Hyde (December 1994)
This is Isabel Kain. She is a woman in her mid 20's who has just made an astonishing discovery. Her love for medieval folklore and myths has driven her to create a homunculus (or golem). The first was said to stand 12 inches tall, but Isabel's minion is a whopping 12 and a half feet tall. Now I know some of you Anime fans have heard of a homunculus before, but her creation [Ivan] is derived from bones of different animals and humans, boiled human fat and flesh with hints of animal hair, and is brought to life through electrocution. Kind of like Frankenstein and very much like Roger from the Hellboy comics. Ivan was created for the sole purpose of protecting Isabel. But word has gotten out and people want Ivan for their own, especially Phoenix Offices, and the only way to get to Ivan is to get through Ms. Kain.
Backround:
Isabel had worked for the government most her life. She had graduated valedictorian in the 9th grade and the military came to offer her a career. She accepted and was stationed in Nevada for 5 years. But one day, while digging through some old files at her office, she found a lost 'Top Secret' document. It read about humans having the mind power for telekinesis, telepathy, and many other things. But the one thing that caught Isabel's eye was the way the document stated that 'magic' is not just an illusion and sorcery is possible. After a moment of realization, she quit and moved to Washington to delve into a mysterious world.
That is all I will say for now. But I will say that she is the main character and Ivan is always after you. This drawing took me a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes and is done with numerous very sharp art pencils. I haven't drawn on paper in a while, it was nice to get back to it.

"You cannot fight fire with fire, but you can make one hell of a glow." - Michael Xavier Hyde (December 1994)
Ah, I knew you guys would say something about her looks. The reason why I chose kind of a not so beautiful face is because too many games glorify 'hotness'. Isabel is not necessarily a good looking person, she is more of an average Jane who stumbled on something spectacular. I am aiming for realism, guys. Not everyone is beautiful. Oh and one more thing, she doesn't retain her looks for a long time in the game. Something horrible happens.

That's a badass picture! She'd really be hot with a hotter face.
What is her ethnicity?
She is Spanish/Indian, long black hair with a valuptuous body. But her ethnicity combination makes for an "okay" face. Besides, her looks don't last long at all.

Well, its the only way to describe this.
But other then that, All I can really draw is stick people. You are a great artist, I watch people like you draw these amazing things from scratch.
I can write a sick riff or lick.
But I cant even draw simple things. Like a piece of fruit. I have no understanding of it.
I really can't lol.

Haha, a boiling pot of water, eh? I know you want to know answers, but the answers are huge spoilers. No body likes it when people spoil stuff. I don't like spoiled food. But at any rate, it must be the genes. I can draw a line and all, but I have a hard time doing solos on my guitar.

Or draw new ones, and you guys help with the names?
Now is a chance for a request.

One more thing:
"Cards and flowers on your window, your friends all plead for you to stay,
sometimes beginnings aren't so simple, sometimes goodbye's the only way."
No problem, Chaos. Keep 'em coming.
