I'm looking into a way to optimise my toughness for my every single champion...I always though that having a good balance between armor and all resi was the best...
But, I may be wrong... This is why I come here ask for your help...
Thus here is my question, how to optimise our toughness?!
Maybe there is a website out there that do it for us by gathering our gear from Battle.net...
Maybe someone did an excel document for it...
What ever it's, I wish to know everything about it... (〜￣▽￣)〜
I hope to gather quite a lot of data, and hope it will help many os us as well...
The problem with optimizing or balancing all res and armor is that they don't come in equivalent rolls. 10 armor = 1 all res, but a single slot can roll up to 100 all res, yet only somewhere around 700 +armor. This inherently makes +armor a weaker and less desirable stat to have rolled on any given piece of gear. Even more so when you consider the fact that all armor pieces come with a decent amount of armor on them naturally, stacking it further via random rolls is pretty redundant and a waste of an affix.
Imagine all your gear that has +all res, also has +armor. What stats are you giving up to achieve that? For most people, it'll be needed offensive stats like +CDR and +skill%. Losing out on those things for the sake of toughness balance will just end up making your runs slow and boring. You don't gain enough to offset that loss. Balance might be ideal, but you give up way too much potential to achieve that balance.
Blizzard should really move +armor to the secondary category. It might become a sought after stat then.
I consider that site the most important, getting the right values in the right places is the key to getting the best gear possible
items have so many affixes and you only have so many item slots so the key issue is the highest stats per affix as people point out vitality is not the highest priority but you do need it so the best method is to get the highest per affix values you can
1 vitality affix on a belt is 500
1 vitality affix on a helm is 750
%life is 15% on both, so if you wanted both it would be best to have 750 vit on the helm and 15% life on the belt
Other issues to lookout for is which stats can be where, a bracer can have both life per second and life per hit, Shoulders can only have life per second it might be best for your gear to have the armour/all resist/vitality on the shoulder with the healing stats on the bracer.
All resist is important but is one of the easiest stats to get, every item slot can have it(certain legendary weapons have it) and all cap at 100 maximum so you can get it anywhere you can without worry all that matters is the total value on the character sheet, which for intelligence classes is even easier.
Armour is a bit trickier most items have it as a base figure and strength and soon dex in the next patch give 1=1 armour, armour has a different cap depending on the item slot, chest, pants, shield, helm, amulet grant 595 bonus armour while the rest grant 397 at maximum.
Bonus armour for the most part gets ignored because of base item armour and str/dex gems in pants/chest being a good direct competitor, shield use is rare except for crusader but they are strenght class to begin with.
On an Int class armour is a good substitute for vitality, vitality is better on the shoulder with armour on the chest than the otherway around since both roll 500 vit but chest rolls higher bonus armour.
then you have the balance of how offensive you want to be 4 primaries makes you pressed to really pick the right gear with the right affix, belts are a key defensive item as are shoulders except for having skill boosters and C.Down reduction/R.Cost reduction which the belt does not have
