I searched for this here on-site, and didn't see that it had ever been posted, so...
This is an old GDCRadio podcast; an audio case-study of the music and sound effects in the Diablo series, presented by Matt Uelmen at the 2001 Game Developers Conference.
It's a 56 minute .mp3 file. I'm listening to it as I type -- kinda dry; maybe a little boring, except for those who enjoy diving into the minutia. A rare species on this site, but I know there are several of you amidst the Horde.
Here's a type-written synopsis, in three parts (see the additional links under , to the left).
Click the Pic (Matt Uelmen) to go to the audio file (Quicktime mp3).
The audience apparently didn't have mic access, so their questions are barely audible. Other than that, enjoy!
I recall reading a number of Matt's comments on various songs within the Diablo universe. As I found those interesting, I will be sure to listen to this as well.
Thanks for the link, i assumedthat old guy playing the guitar at the blizzard WWI was Matt Uelmen.. but then again why would he come back since blizzard arent using his services anymore.
Wonderful musician.. I will listen to the Diablo soundtracks until the day I die.

As the shadow once again crawls across our world...
...the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind,
The people pray for strength and guidance ..
they should pray for the mercy of a swift death
for I have seen what the darkness hides.
I'm glad some folks found this while I was gone. I'm also glad I posted it; I lost it in the crash, so now I can re-download it.
It does seem somewhat poignant that it won't be Matt's soundtrack work on Diablo III. But, judging by the initial gameplay video, at least the music is still based upon the themes he created.

Siaynoq's Playthroughs
Somehow I thought he was older. I'm glad he's fairly young though, makes him much cooler lol.
Thank you for the link.
