most of the players that say on forum that will play hardcore will usually play softcore but they just like to look Pr0 [email protected]
But i will, i want those skulls under my banner but it wont be on my first character, not like my barb in D2 that i made him harcore thinking the game would only be harder just to learn around lvl 32 that if i die, my character will be deleted.
I would like to get the hang of the game/feel and having something to return to if i fail miserably.
Softcore for me... I cant even imagine my rage if my lvl 60 Char dies after weeks of farming Oo and I die alot because I always get distracted by things like my TV... or I simply get tiered because I played until 6 in the morning...
And if I look at my Titan Quest Char that I play right now... 18 Deaths until mid Epic (would be Nightmare)... most of the deaths due to insta-death by boss skills Q_Q
Maybe, and thats a big maybe, I'll try hardcore after some time but that wouldnt really count in the poll
I'm torn. I enjoy hardcore immensely from a gameplay perspective. It's just awesome how differently the game is played by everyone in hardcore. From playstyles to builds to gearing. It's all about survivability. Having said that, it really bothers me that hardcore character won't have the opportunity to access the rmah. Hardcore is one area where mass farmers would not dare to go, therefore i believe decent money could actually be made in hardcore without a rediculous time investment for minimal monetary return. It really a shame that the truly "pro" gamers who simply never die because they're so damn good won't be able to make a decent return doing what they love. I also have a feeling underground shady exchanges will run rampant and that bothers me as well. I'll probably play both.
Side note: does anyone know if a player will be required to play through softcore in order to have access to hardcore, like in d2?

To Jay Wilson and everyone else: Diablo 3 can be competitive without being an E-Sport.
I will play Softcore the most because that is where you can get the most content... However, I will play Hardcore when I have someone I can play with comes along. I would never play Hardcore by myself or with people I don't know.
I don't play Diablo for challenge, I play diablo for loot. I play SC2 for challenge, or I go fight a god in Agarest, or I play ultra-insane difficulty on some game where death is only a checkpoint away.
I don't want anything costing me my diablo loot... becuase it's the purpose of the game, and losing loot is just bad.
