So after reading Magistrates post on the main page on the banners system I became aware of the fact that hardcore players get a pile of bones at the bottom of their banner which softcore players do not. For those interested, this is what Magistrate said:
"A Throne of Bones: Hardcore players get to show off their status with a special pile of ghastly ruin at the foot of their banners. This grizzly marker helps distinguish the regulars from the sadistic thrill-seekers."
This got me thinking on whether there should be other things unique to hardcore players. I was thinking there could be things along the lines of dyes, titles etc. I would specifically like to see something extra super cool for players that defeat inferno mode on hardcore. Maybe the ability to instantly smite your softcore buddies characters
So the question I pose to those few of you that read this forum is, would you like to see anything unique to hardcore and if so what?
I would very much love to see something unique to distinguish the hardcore players from the normal players.
More so, I would even prefer some form of titles or achievements (something visual) to distinguish those that beat the game on inferno as well, that would be awesome.
Also, I just have a simple question, I assumed that hardcore players can't play with normal players in a co-op game? I'm sure if someone gets into an argument there will be plenty of softcore players that are childish enough to try and let the hardcore player die? For that reason I thought hardcore will only play with hardcore? Am I wrong?
I do believe that the banner gets certain things on it once you beat each difficulty of the game. Also, when you do some achievements things get added to it. I can't remember where I saw that information originally, but if I come across it I'll post it.
Hardcore players will obviously only be allowed to play with hardcore players. Just as in Diablo 2.
Also in Diablo 2, Titles rewarded for beating difficulties were different for Hardcore players than they were for Softcore. I expect this to look similar in Diablo 3.
Also, Keep in my that no RMAH will be provided in Hardcore. This is going to make HC, feel so much more rewarding than S to begin with. Players with great items, will more than likely be the most dedicated and skilled players, which will not be the case in Softcore.
I don't expect to see any different items provided to Hardcore, that aren't available in Softcore.
