I have been searching with little luck. each weapon we get has a elemental damage added, or is considered " Black " damage.
It takes a physical skill, such as Tornado on barbarian to apply the effect, Since 2.0.1 Skills elemental damage overrides the weapon.
My questions is, is there a list like this? Arcane: critical hits cause a silence effect, preventing spell casts. Fire: critical hits cause a fire damage over time effect to be applied to the target. Cold: critical hits cause the target to be frozen for a short time. Lightning: critical hits cause the target to be stunned for 2 seconds (?). Holy: Unknown (extra damage to undead regardless of critical?). Poison: Unknown (I believe it simply applies a damage over time effect).
I copied and pasted this, can anyone fill in Holy damage?
I am starting to think you didn't ready my post at all. "It takes a physical skill, such as Tornado on barbarian to apply the effect, Since 2.0.1 Skills elemental damage overrides the weapon" Key word in this phrase linked. SKILLS. Anyway, that's why I posted. I am looking for more information. Also at the bottom of the Thread I asked my question.
These are old effects that were around in beta (D3V beta, not RoS beta). They never made it to live and were removed before release.
Weapon elemental damage has no effect and is overwritten by skill damage type to prevent the "black weapon" rush. Elements only have relevance in some edge cases (Elemental Exposure for wizards, for example).
I do have a cold Shard of hate. Cold Damage range 1137-1332. I see the effect, and will test it again. I noticed it slowed the enemy, The list was from a random website among my 100 searches. Are we positive they have no effect? I see Holy, Lightning, Fire, Poison displaying when using physical skills only.
