Here is our new storage chest. You can see on the mini map that this particular chest is identified and an icon representing it. Not much but just thought I would share it with you guys in case you haven't seen it yet or realized what it was.
Mini map icons:
As stated before, you can see the storage chest icon. The exclamation mark is more than likely a quet giver. The orange circle with the arrow is your character marker (I believe this has changed). I am assuming the circle with the blue glow at the bottom is a waypoint. Oddly, the one that sticks out to me is the fire. you can see the camp fire in other screenshots and it appears to have no significance look wise. Why is it marked so clearly on the map? Maybe it is just something to identify with for you location or maybe it has more significance than it looks.
Deckard:
Nothing special, I just like finding Deckard. I also assume that the girl to our right is Leah (or the new bow class jk :P)
Champion Zombies:
In case you didn't see this,
Official Blizzard Quote:
Those are champions! Champion packs receive a slight blue lighting effect to help distinguish them. And they will rock you. I die to champions all the time... It's pathetic. You'll also notice in the next screenshot the next step, with the champions dead, and what they've left behind.
So all chapion class monsters have a blueish glow to identify them. I don't personally like it. It just stands out too much and makes them look weird. I would prefer maybe a blue outline in place of the red outline on normal monsters
Health Globes:
The newest look of the health globes. I don't know what they look like in other environments but they definitely stand out on this dark area. This is also the drops of the champion zombies which give us some sort of reference to how often these globes do drop.

The new hotbar is a little different. First off, it only has five slots now instead of six. In addition to that, the old one had two slots that were separated from the rest, making me assume it was for potions or scrolls. Now all five are the same. As far as the skill icons. I feel they are a bit too comical looking. While I think they clearly represent the skill, I would prefer a darker look.
Character Equipment:
Overall, I like the look. I like the drawing of the character to the right. I also like the silhouette of the barb behind the armor. The only thing I do not like is the location of the weapon slots. They are just too low for me. I would like them on the sides of the gloves and bracers slots.
Inventory:
There are some interesting items here. The two scrolls in the left column? The one on the bottom right is identify and there is no TP so what are those? My only guess is temp stat boosts scrolls. Also the book above the red sphere is weird. It must not be a tome since the scrolls stack so what is it? Perhaps a quest item?
Skill runes:
that red sphere in the inventory is a skill rune.
Official Blizzard Quote:
That is a runestone. Socketed into skills to change their behavior or enhance their performance.
My guess is that it is the formerly known hydra rune based off of the single object on the left and the multiple strikes to the right but who knows. Either way, I like the look of them. They are very distinguished from other items and I am sure that there are a dozen different looks for them color and shape wise.
Barb's Rage:
The latest look of the barb's energy source "rage". I like that they went back to the basic sphere. I though the ball and the rings just looked to different from what we were use to. I hope all of the classes have just the sphere. I am also a fan of orange so that a plus for me.
Artifacts?:
The icon is that of the item used to salvage items into materials. I assume clicking on it opens the salvaging screen. More interestingly, to me, is the other room in this area. The item was referred to as an "artifact" item. I can only assume this title and open space means we will be getting more of these type of items that we will use throughout the game. Maybe this is where the talisman will be going since it has been removed from the character part of the inventory.

to be completely honest, I don't think i noticed half of what you posted..(then again, i wasn't analyzing it, i just watched the vid :P)
a) I don't like the icons on the minimap, i just don't like them..
its impossible to have unlimited space for items, but bashiok did say it would be RIDICULOUSLY large..(good enough for me)
c) The champions look fine. Even in d2, the champions had a sort of color or hue to them and an enchantment of some sort. maybe if they lower the hue just a tad, it wouldn't look so dominating of the whole zombie..
and remember, its only a champion zombie, which is what? one of the weakest champions we'll see. the zombie looks fine. In d2 and d3, zombies just never intrigued me, they are always too plain, and too weak for me to care. If they changed their powers up a bit, and their look then maybe i'd care about them more.
the new skeletons on the other hand, really catch my eye.
d) the health globes look fine, but i don't think that is the best look for them. They are too red and they draw your eyes completely.
I personally wish they would change the "design" of the look. to me, the health globe looks like a ball with potion in it, and i wish it would look more interesting, and maybe a bit less red
e) I completely agree with what someone said about the weapon slots being too low. I love the idea of the bar sketch behind the slots, and how they fit on top of his body, but then all of the sudden the weapons are at the floor, which ruins that whole thing.
One simple fix is to move the weapon slots parallel to his hand, to the left and to the right of it.
Another fix is to have a button like "w" in lod, but this would make his other armor dissappear, and his weapons are the only thing showing on screen.
as for now, thats all i have to say...

It could be that the campfire is simply an indicator where your caravan is located at/around. Seemed pretty obvious to me.
Campfire = Camping = Save = Caravan
Or something like that.
it could be a way to mark towns in the map, as in D3 there will be more than one town for each act, we would need an indicator of where the towns are... and a campfire is a quite easy way to show it

and because 90% of the time, when i think of town, i think of act 1 and the camp fire...logical and nostalgic
